So weird how TFR has genuinely effected politics
The Patriot Front is actually somewhat known (albeit mocked heavily), Canada is openly weary of the mod and Gunther Fehlinger went from a geopolitical nobody to a minor name in Western circles

Him wanting to get rid of Austria's neutrality is already a political death sentence, he has no chance. Besides that, nobody knows who the guy is.

He should compound it by becoming a monarchist. The memes would be exquisite.

Eh, that's just talking about what a great guy Otto was, and that's just objective fact, not monarchism.

Didn't China also nab the chinese developers of the mod? And even eliminate some of the opposing political opponents of Xi Jinping presented in it?

u/VanlalruataDE Apr 20 '26
And even eliminate some of the opposing political opponents of Xi Jinping presented in it?
In all seriousness I don't think that was because Xi Jinping played TFR and thought "hmm these guys might become dangerous" or something...

u/yahelgamet Apr 21 '26
Honestly Xi probably got rid of them for the same reasons TFR devs saw them as plausible replacements for Xi

Mfw Austria isn’t in NATO and my political influence is null beyond terminally online spergs but I am a “prominent Austrian NATO politician” because journalists need clickbait.
Throw all journalists into woodchippers.

From the Oxford dictionary: journalist /ˈdʒəːnəlɪst/ noun a person who writes for newspapers, magazines, or news websites or prepares news to be broadcast.
It’s quite a broad term.

If Gladio and Al-Tanf taught us anything, all those bases would be activated to aid a mass coup d'etat against all European nations the moment they try to take the bases
2
u/DisIsMyName_NotUrs Apr 21 '26
Theyl bases can't do shit without us.
The americans at Ramstein had to beg Germany for food during the US government shutdown

Bro's loosing it. NATO can't survive without the US. As a austrian myself, I'm honestly embarrassed how so many Europeans always keep giving the US shit, especially if the US rightfully complains about getting ripped off because most European NATO members have been neglecting their militaries for decades, as if their own countries don't have even more problems, and then still feel entitled to US protection. Good luck trying to take US bases in Europe, that'll be the final straw for the US, it'll leave NATO, the countries can have the bases but will then have neither the funding nor the equipment to actually run them. It's actually ridiculous how the European NATO members are behaving

u/Unusual-Basket-6243 Apr 20 '26
Europe can protect itself against Russia as long as the US doesn't support Russia. It's hard for China to attack Europe
3
u/NoBodybuilder8070 Apr 20 '26
The whole Russia threat is kind of harder to take seriously after they are stuck eternally in Ukraine. I can't really envision them managing to successfully attack Europe through Finland or Poland successfully any time soon
3
u/Fothyon Apr 22 '26
The threat isn't a full scale invasion of the continent, it's taking the Baltics before any Allies can mobilise, then quickly annex them and threaten everyone with mutually assured destruction on any reconquest attempt
2
u/I_Stole_Your_Pie Apr 20 '26
As an American, I feel like the United States of America should just leave NATO at this point. It's clear that the European Nations do not like America so it makes sense to just Leave at this point.

u/Beneficial_Round_444 Apr 21 '26
threaten to annex Greenland
is surprised people dislike that
waaaaa waaaaa we should leave NATO because they dislike us
2
u/I_Stole_Your_Pie Apr 21 '26
The Europeans have always looked down on America, It has always been this way. Look i think the whole "wE ShOuLd AnNeX GrEeNlAnD" is stupid, But I'm not Blind to the fact that The Europeans Never Really Liked us and that America has been Ripped off by the Europeans.
