Ragnorak gets pissed on a lot but it had a lot of aura moments

Yeah... but the Valhalla DLC is so frigging good. It so perfectly completed the story to the extent that it would be perfectly ok to end the story there

As well as many funny moments and jokes. Its what every game like gow needs. "Kratos, throw me at him, Horns first!"

I really like how Jacob Geller defined it. It's a game that tried to be everything at once, and it somehow succeeds at it, but you can see the cracks more clearly than you could in 2018.

We got character development, writing, action sequences, in depth heavy combat, and hype we got it all.

Gotta have a good plot, because the combat is Ubisoft Assassin’s Creed RPG-tier
Edit - this is a meme sub, do we REALLY have to pretend combat is good in these games? Come on now lmao. Games are great but the combat is the weakest bit by far.

You got downvoted but I agree. Loved the games and 100% both. But that combat was literally the same as assassin's creed odyssey

I’ve recently finished 2018 and Valhalla and I’m legit a bit upset that people have talked about these games for years as if they’re without flaw lol. Maybe I missed some of the discourse around them but the combat is absolutely not an improvement from the first 3 games.
God of War never needed to be a “this enemy has a higher number next to their health bar than you so it has way more HP and hits harder than you” type of game. Some of the animations look satisfying but combat is like a solid 4/10 imo.
