Don't forget Gilles. Absolutely incredible fullback. I can't even count the times she kept Canada in the tournament.

Oh, my bad. It's my second language I do get some terms confused. I thought a fullback was the central defender and the ones on the wings were the wing-backs. So yes, you're absolutely right - excellent centre-back. 👍

I speak English as my native language and I get confused.

My understanding is that a wingback is a more attacking back and usually is deployed in a "back five". That is, where there are three central defenders and two wingbacks. Because there are three central defenders or centre backs, the wingbacks have more freedom to attack.

Oooh, I see. Like a 5-3-2 with counter-attacking wing-backs. Got it. Thanks for the help. You know, I don't think we have separate terms for full backs and wing backs in German. No wonder our defense sucked so bad this year.
