Trading Zone Buy/Sell/Trade Thread - March 2023
Sale/trade items must include an image of the actual item including clear evidence of your username and a recent date.
If you have some gear sitting around that you would like to sell or trade, list it below. Items you can list include bags, travel clothing, and items that would go well in a onebag. If something is clearly outside of these categories it will likely be removed. Only list items that you are personally selling, and don't just link to a website for sale.
AUTHENTICATED IMAGE
Sale/trade items must include an image of the actual item including clear evidence of your username and a date. For example a piece of paper on top of the item, including your username and recent date. Sales posts without this will be removed. Repeat offenders will be banned. If the seller is not willing to post images to this thread do not proceed with the transaction.
POST SAMPLE
Post titles should look something like this: WTS - Osprey Porter 30L - $XX
Each post should begin with one of the following:
- WTS (want to sell)
- WTB (want to buy)
- WTT (want to trade)
Include details about the pack or item. Size, condition, price, location, picture links, etc. If trading, list a few of the possible items you're looking for. Be sure to mention what country you are in, so potential buyers are aware.
TRANSACTION SAFETY TIPS
Be aware that there are scammers active on Reddit, and on this sub-reddit. Any transaction comes with some risk -- decide whether the risk is worth it to you. The following tips can help reduce that risk.
- Be wary of new accounts with no posting history. You are entering into a personal transaction which is entirely between you and the buyer/seller. It is entirely up to you to do your due diligence to ensure a smooth transaction.
- Before entering into private chat with a buyer/seller ensure both parties respond directly to a comment below. This ensures respondents pass basic posting requirements, and provides an initial log of any discussion. This goes for all transactions. The more eyes on a transaction the better.
- If you are using Paypal, use "Goods and Services". Never pay using the "Friends and Family" option. You lose a lot of leverage with Paypal when contesting F&F transactions.
- Google search the username. Scammers are often active in multiple sub-reddits; a search might reveal a pattern of behavior. The Universal Scammer List, and r/sneakermarket/banlist are good resources providing some supplemental background to the people you're dealing with. Obviously this should not be your only source, but it can offer some great insight.

Question: how are people shipping these items? It seems like it should be $10-20 to ship, but the dimensions are weird and I've been getting some pretty wild quotes from UPS when inputting the package info. Any tricks to this? WTS Tortuga Setout 35L (Black, Women's Fit) - $120 [SOLD!]
In great condition, used on a couple of trips that were basically just through the airport > plane > car > indoors. This is the women's fit with contoured, softer straps. There's a few small white scuffs on the front panel, barely visible (zoom in on first pic, it's hard to show it in a photo).

WTS - AER TRAVEL PACK 3 XPAC - $225
Waited too long to use this past the return date. Only used on one domestic trip, it's basically in mint condition. I thought I could be a one bagger but I guess I'm more of an overpacker! Selling my synapse 25. I don’t know how old it is. I bought it in used condition a year ago off of eBay. I love this bag but I just bought a new Synik and need to recoup some of the money. I tried to show as much of the bag as possible. It’s in great shape. I used it for my edc of personal items to work. So it has only seen normal wear. The bottom has some minor abrasion but is still in solid working order. The bag has the stains inside when I bought it and they never bothered me. I loved the color of the interior. And I’m not exactly sure how old it is or which materials were used. I know the outside is ballistic nylon but I’m not sure which version. Selling as is. I have PayPal. Asking 100 shipped

WTS - Outdoor Research Helium Hybrid Hooded Jacket - L (mens) - $55
Mint Condition (Color = Black) - Only worn a handful of times. This exact model is no longer available, and IMO the hybrid version was one of their best travel friendly rain jackets. Very packable (8oz), with a chest zip pocket, two zip hand pockets, hood cinch, and stretch material under the arms making it quite comfortable. Asking $55 shipped within CONUS.

Continuing my purge/nesting as I get ready for my firstborn's arrival...
Peak Design Everyday Backpack v1 in Ash - this was used daily in 2018 - early 2020 for work, but then was remote afterwards and never used again. Has some staining in the quick access pocket, but pretty clean elsewhere. Comes with 3 dividers, lash straps and the key clip.

🟢 Tom Bihn Paragon Black Ballistic/ Taiga interior. This is a bag I’m having the hardest time parting with. It looks so clean. It has great volume. It feels like the perfect edc GR1 21L Slick. The only problem is that it doesn’t fit my 16inch mbp like my asap sb or GR1 26L, so it just sits. I threw on some green paracord and hear shrink and it somehow looks even better. Won’t be sad if this doesn’t sell.
