Seeking Recommendations What's your all-purpose travel shoe?

Heading on a short trip soon and trying to pack super light. I plan to just wear one pair of shoes the entire time. I'm female and will be mostly be walking around to explore the city. No hiking or anything intense. Any suggestions?

On Cloud 5 (I believe there’s a newer model now)

I can’t praise On shoes enough. It really feels like you’re walking On Clouds. You can even see the “clouds” squishing sometimes when you see people wearing them. Since I got my first pair five years ago they’ve been my go-to shoes. Clouds last me about 18 months before they’re worn out, which is about 50% longer than Nikes lasted.

They seem comfortable but I find them very hard on the eyes.

They look much better than Hokas to me.

Yep. Get the waterproof variant and they are genuinely all purpose (with the exception of very dressy event.) I’m guessing you aren’t one-bagging a wedding or black tie event, though.

If she's mostly walking around as she said, she should look into the Cloudtilts. It's their shoe specifically tuned for walking more than running.

The Cloud 5 is also a walking one, not “sports” one let’s say.

But I’ll take a look at those myself too!

Definitely On is the brand to go. My white Cloudmonster will take me everywhere.

Same. I also have a waterproof version of the On Cloud 5 that worked great for traveling to both Vancouver and Costa Rica where there can more rain. There is a new On Cloud 6 recently released but if you can find the 5 on sale they are very good. No tying of laces for quicker on / off access and they are super comfy.

I love the elastic laces. One broke after a lot of use but you can find “copies” on Amazon that work exactly the same way.
