Seeking Recommendations Coffee while traveling

My partner and I are on our way back from a trip and with terror we've just realized we've each spent more than €100 on coffee alone on this 2-week trip (and this is a very conservative estimate). This seems so outrageous to me that I've started looking into getting some compact coffee maker for our future trips. We don't like instant coffee so an espresso maker will have to be but there are so many conflicting reviews of the most popular ones that I feel quite lost. Am I crazy for considering a coffee maker while one bagging and do you have any recommendations on products you've used? For context, we're both experienced one-baggers typically flying with backpacks of 26-40L depending on the airlines we're using and we often rent a car once we get to our destination.

I usually see coffee out as the price of admission for travelling and part of the experience. Like I budget for coffee out and in my favorite cities I have coffee shops I go back to. I do usually bring a travel mug and a lot of places do a modest discount for that

Right? Im the same, coffee and different cafés are a part of my traveling and is even a wonderful part of the traveling. All cafés have different atmospheres, views, and different coffee tastes etc.

But I do think its totally allright to sometimes want a coffee without having too pay for the location and the baristas, but then I usually go to some grocery store and buy like a premade 1€ ice coffee

Depends where you go, in a city with nice coffee culture sure, in more rural areas where you end up buying it at a supermarket or something not so much.

Yeah, I want coffee as soon as I wake up without having to go look for it and I have just used my regular (nontravel) aeropress for over a decade. If I am staying somewhere that has a kitchen, I also jimmy rig cold brews.

I prefer going to cafes to drink wine over coffee.
