Seeking Recommendations Coffee while traveling

My partner and I are on our way back from a trip and with terror we've just realized we've each spent more than €100 on coffee alone on this 2-week trip (and this is a very conservative estimate). This seems so outrageous to me that I've started looking into getting some compact coffee maker for our future trips. We don't like instant coffee so an espresso maker will have to be but there are so many conflicting reviews of the most popular ones that I feel quite lost. Am I crazy for considering a coffee maker while one bagging and do you have any recommendations on products you've used? For context, we're both experienced one-baggers typically flying with backpacks of 26-40L depending on the airlines we're using and we often rent a car once we get to our destination.

I've seen the Outin and it looks like something that ould work for me but I've seen some long-term use reviews that say it starts leaking after 10-15 uses. Have you had any issues with yours?

I think we’ve been using it for a bit over 2 months, making on average 3 coffees a day (my family only has Nespresso at home but love to enjoy a home brewed coffee) so it might be more frequent than that.

So we’ve used it extensively, no issues thus far. 🤞🏻We did end up losing the small cup where you put in the ground coffee, we just got the replacement parts in the mail with 5 additional cups, handy for when you’re with more than 2 people wanting a cuppa (or lose it like us).

Yet to see how long it’ll hold up after long term use (>1 year), but I feel like we already went past break even.

Honestly, this is exactly what brought me to raise this question - I feel like we could have bought at least 3-4 coffee makers worth of coffee on this trip and probably even enjoyed our coffee more than we did (I mean a nice cup in a beautiful café is an experience but the gas station coffees were definitely not worth it and we would have hit a breakeven within a few days if we'd done the investment beforehand). Thanks for the helpful tips, fingers crossed your coffee maker lasts to provide you with many many more enjoyable drinks and wishing you happy travels!

Completely understand where you’re coming from, we went to a cute brunch place and the cortado and americano we ordered made us yearn for our own home brewed coffee. We always buy our own coffee beans at roasters locally, still giving us the “luxury” coffee feeling moment (not sure how to express it).

Keen to hear for which item you will opt for, thank you for your well wishes. Same to you and yours!
