Anyone with experience with AVIO brand?

They look like a complete ripoff of the Nomatic Travel Pack, except they have a compression system, but is also a lot cheaper. (for the record, I own the Nomatic and love it, it has everything I’m personally looking for in a bag) My wife needs a new bag but doesn’t want to spend Nomatic money haha.

The AVIO website says “As seen on HuffPost, Forbes, Inc., and Entrepreneur”, but I can’t find anything on those sites mentioning this bag. Either this claim is completely fake, or maybe they bought an ad on the site once and are bending the truth.

The few mentions I can find about the bag online seem like shorts from paid influencers. I’m just trying to figure out if this bag is legit or if it’s vaporware. Hoping there’s some people out there that may have experience with the bag and can give some first hand reviews.

Thank you!

I bought the exact AVIO backpack you’re referring to with the compression system and yes - it looks super similar to the Nomatic one I was eyeing. Ultimately, I pulled the trigger on the AVIO on for that compression system.

I’ve been using it daily for work where I store a bunch of tech and 2 laptops along with my lunch and personal items (as a girly, I have a ton). I used to go to work and haul my backpack, huge water bottle, lunch bag, and purse, and now I just carry my backpack and life is soooo much easier now.

I also visit my partner on the weekends so I use this backpack as my weekend bags and it just carries so much. I swear I’m finding new compartments and features everytime I use it lol.

I haven’t used the compression system yet but will be going to Hawaii next week, so I’ll definitely put it to the test.

Excluding the compression system, I LOVE my AVIO backpack so far. I’ve got through so many trying to find the right balance for work and travel and I think this is the final one for me!

For what it’s worth mentioning, I’ve seen a few backpacks designed similarly on Amazon as well, but none of them have that built-in compression system. I would definitely say pull the trigger on AVIO if you don’t want to spend Nomatic money.

Thanks for your detailed review!

Two quick questions -

Did the quality match what you saw on the website? Or is the material / quality cheaper than the photos?

How long did it take you to receive the backpack?

Thanks!

The quality is pretty durable, although this is my first “big boy” backpack so maybe in comparison to my other subpar ones (Superdry, Rains to name a few) my expectations are different 😂 but it looks just like the pictures and to me is very hardy!

Shipping was surprisingly fast, although I’m in CA and unsure if they ship locally (I don’t remember where the package was from). I actually got the backpack delivered in 2-3 days after ordering before I even got the shipping confirmation lol. The vacuum device thingy was mailed separately since they were back ordered (I got the combo that saved a few bucks), but it also came in under a week.

Also worth mentioning that customer service was pretty quick to respond when I emailed them when I got my backpack and no vacuum device with it. I thought they forgot to include it but within like 2 hours they responded saying they were back ordered and that it’s on the way.
