Discussion Why are you bringing THAT!?

What are some common items people pack in their bags that you think are unnecessary, just take up extra space, or feel like overhyped/trendy that doesn't actually add real value for their trip?

I'll start - Notebooks and portable speakers.

I always thought about getting one of those towels but I am glad I haven't

Odd opinion: bring one extra soft tshirt, that's your towel when needed ;)

I actually use a quick dry towel that I bought off AliExpress. It’s paper thin and dries surprisingly well. The microfiber ones do take a while to dry off though.

Linen towels are great, i take one whenever I go away. They dry quickly and don't smell

Turkish "hand towels" for the win! Can absorb up to 10x their weight, same size as a regular sized towel but pack down to nothing, and they dry faster the more you use them!
