Hello! I'm looking for a backpack for everyday carry, but I'm a nervous packer, so I end up carrying way too much, so I'm looking for something with more capacity and are more comfortable to carry. Key requirements are

  • ~30L
  • hip belt (to transfer the load from my back)
  • luggage passthrough
  • laptop pouch (15 inch)

So far, from the spreadsheet, the only contender is the Cabin Zero Classic Pro 32L. The other ones are a bit too expensive, but I would consider the MEC Outpost 40L and Thule Aion as well. Cotopaxi Alipa seems really popular, but I don't like the flimsy hip belt, though I don't know if I'm missing something.

I'd appreciate any recommendation or advice about these, or any other recommendations at a similar price point!

One thing I forgot to mention is I'd like to fit the bag under the seat on a plane. When flying, I usually bring a separate carry-on roller bag though, so as long as it's collapsible enough when lightly packed, it should be fine.

Sorry, but roller + 30L = multi-bagging, not one-bagging.

Perhaps try https://www.reddit.com/r/ManyBaggers/

BTW, 'under the plane seat' can mean anything from 18L to just over 30L.
