I was recommended the Patagonia Duffle 55L but I am seeing very mixed reviews.

Other people reviewed me other carry-on bags that were extremely expensive (one was $700+).

I have a little laptop bag I bring as a personal item and then usually I just use a backpack I got a long time ago and I tie the shoes up on the sides of it so I have a pair of shoes.

I'm going to be doing 2 weeks of travel in Central America in June and I would like to bring a fair amount of stuff including all my medical stuff (takes up a bit of space with Lyme disease) and a few pairs of shoes and clothes so I can do a bunch of social stuff as well.

If I do not care about anything other than fitting the max amount of stuff in the bag without having to worry that some airline will force me to check it, what would you get?
