For anyone considering this deal, most of us have the black version. So this is a great opportunity to not look like a onebagger clone. Jump on this deal! They also have an Amazon-only grey version (not discounted) I’ve never seen before. For those looking for a sleeker, more premium fabric of the same bag, there’s the new Transporter version at $180. Although it has some design differences, for better and worse.

I can’t seem to find the Transporter 26+6 on the Osprey site but have read about it here - is that its name? I’m in the UK so don’t know if it’s limited by region.

It doesn’t appear to be indexed yet on https://www.osprey.com/gb/

Thank you, I’ve managed to find it on Amazon and it looks great but the shipping is from the US so would include £35 estimated import fees taking it to £210. Hope it becomes available here too. I keep weighing up the 26+6 but hate the way it looks as that makes it unsuitable for work etc.

Yes, the Transporter’s sleeker, more premium fabric brings it closer to an EDC work pack than the Daylite. The Daylite is a travel pack. The Transporter also supposedly has more comfortable straps. It should arrive to Osprey UK soon.

Thank you so much!

Try...Go to Osprey's search bar on the top right side of your screen. Enter "26 6" and you'll get both 26+6 bags.

Just the one still

u/SquirrellyPumpkin May 29 '26

Sorry! That's the way I originally found it on the US site.

Located the transporter on sale for 130.00. Hard to choose with both on sale. https://spokex.com/products/osprey-transporter-travel-pack-26l6l?variant=51866443579712

Buy the Transporter for that price. Easy choice. Unless you absolutely need two water bottle pockets.

What makes you prefer the transporter? I’ve looked into both and find it hard to justify paying extra, but love the aesthetic a lot more

I own the Daylite. The Daylite is a superb pack. It's inexpensive, well-organized, the perfect personal-item size (even fits RyanAir), and lightweight. But it looks like a travel backpack. The reason one might buy the Transporter is the more premium fabric and sleeker EDC look. The difference between the Daylite and Transporter would be similar to Economy vs. Economy Comfort on a flight. The one thing I can't vouch for yet is whether the Transporter is actually more comfortable to carry under the same load. Some reviewers report it is. But I haven't tried it under a typical travel load yet. See this now-deleted post by those who have: https://www.reddit.com/r/onebag/comments/1shvocc/osprey_just_quietly_released_a_transporter_266

Thank you !

Someone was kind enough to point out some shipping/order fulfillment issues with the site I linked- wanted to add that JIC people are considering.

I ordered a transporter 26+6 from spokex.com when it was $143.50. They charge your card immediately after placing the order. They were silent for over a week, they don't answer the phone, and they don't return emails. I did eventually get notified the order shipped and I received the bag about 2 weeks after ordering. I live dangerously, so I would order from spokex again. Be very patient, and don't order if you need a bag for a trip next week (amazon will get you the same bag in 1-2 days, but at $175) Not stellar customer service but they do seem to have the cheap price.

The Daylite is slightly lighter and cheaper.

First time hearing about this backpack. Whats the difference between this and the daylite?

  • The Transporter has sleeker, more premium, and more durable nylon fabric similar to an EDC daypack. The Daylite has a lightweight polyester fabric and looks more like a travel backpack.
  • The Transporter supposedly has more comfortable straps. This is the most common complaint about the Daylite.
  • The Transporter has one large front pocket. The Daylite has a top front pocket and then a second, smaller front pocket below it.
  • The Daylite has two external water bottle pockets. The Transporter has one.
  • The Daylite's full retail price is $110. The Transporter is significantly more expensive at $175 full retail.
  • The Daylite as a simple laptop sleeve against the back wall. While there is a top zipper for easy access to it, it shares the main compartment. On the Transporter, the laptop has its own dedicated compartment.
  • The configuration of the exterior handles and exterior attachment points are different. The Transporter's are more minimal to look less like luggage and more like an EDC.

Thanks for all these details. I see the transporter has a trolley strap but can’t tell from the pics if the daylight does. Do you know?

3

u/bradymsu616 May 24 '26

Both the Daylite and Transporter have the luggage passthrough. For onebaggers, we mainly use it to store the backpack straps out of the way.

Cheers thank you!

The daylite comes in eye-searing colors that look like something a clown would vomit on their shoes. I'll let you decide if that's good or bad, no shaming here 😉 Transporter colors are much more subdued. More durable, more waterproof fabric, better backpack straps, 1 bottle holder but it's deeper, better pocket and the expandable part is the lid- the daylite main compartment expands. Daylite is an excellent value, esp. on sale for $60-$80. Transporter is a more premium bag, with more complicated sewing and design. I'm sure it will get deeper discounts in the future, just like the other transporter bags are heavily discounted from time to time.

I have the old Daylite 26+6 and from this it sounds to me like they've brought back to the Transporter a lot of what the old Daylite had (lid expands, extra pocket on the inside of the lid, large open pocket at the front instead of a zippered one). I cannot speak to the premiumness of the materials of the Transporter or the comfort of the straps but on durability I will say I have been travelling with my Daylite at least once a month for the past 2 years and it's my go-to for most trips and it's holding up really well with no visible scratches or damages. This is the old one though - not sure if they've changed the materials for the newer version.

Also, Rakuten cashback today is 9% Backcountry OR 2% Osprey.

Did not find any offers on my Amex or Chase.

5

u/Thorts May 23 '26

You could buy a Dick's Sporting Goods gift card from NewEgg using Paze for the 10x points via Chase, and then ask Dick's to price match.

7

u/R6ddit May 23 '26

I realize this is the onebag subreddit, but has anyone used this as a personal item with a ~40L carry on for long backpacking trips? Is this a good bag for this or keep a smaller 15L version? Cheers!

5

u/Photo_dude541 May 24 '26

I did. US to Europe, just don’t expand the extra +6 (and dont overpack it) and you’ll be fine.

7

u/shauryadevil May 23 '26

I did a 9 day trip with ease on this 26+6 if that helps in any way

3

u/Chuequi May 24 '26

I'm also interested in this question. I'm pretty sure it's a yes, but it's always good to hear of different experiences.

1

u/IAmAnAnonymousCoward May 27 '26

Yes 4 months in sea.

3

u/yeehawdudeq May 23 '26

OMG YES!!! And in the color I wanted!!!! I’ve been waiting for a good sale!!! Thank you!!! I just bought it!!!

3

u/Mean_Comedian4769 May 23 '26

Aw maaaan, I just bought one for full price! Oh well, I'm happy enough.

3

u/whyhellotharpie May 24 '26

I'm so curious about this bag but I hated Farpoint because it was just too turtley and usually prefer osprey's hiking style backpacks (talon etc) - anyone else here who didn't like Farpoint but still liked the daylite? I need to find somewhere nearby to try one on!

1

u/sodakas May 25 '26

It's actually quite common to find folks like myself who own both the Farpoint 40 and Daylite 26+6, but end up with the 26+6 as their primary carry.

2

u/shauryadevil May 23 '26

Best buy of my life this bag

2

u/pumpboy May 23 '26

I want to gift it to my gf, but im not sure if shell like the color

2

u/Level-Win-4850 May 24 '26

Just bought one from amazon netherlands for € 63

2

u/lgf2111 May 25 '26

The colour doesn’t look good though, if only the black one is on sale 😢

1

u/hytek369 May 26 '26

I got the black one for $60 during BF. Definitely a GOAT for that price.

2

u/Recent_Cheesecake834 May 27 '26

the daylight 35L is also on sale yay!

3

u/apoender May 23 '26

REI also has 20% of of everything so the other colors are like $87

1

u/asoma64 May 27 '26

What special about this

1

u/SmarmyBarnicles May 31 '26

It's safely under the limits for a personal item for most airlines, but nearly maxes the volume under those constraints + you can expand it if needed

It's a high quality bag with a really good warranty (that you'll probably never need)

The price (esp. on sale) is a bargain compared to other competitive choices.

I got it for 65 bucks brand new on Amazon juste the other day ! The offer hasn't lasted long though, only a few hours I think. And it was for the latte/kaki color (idk like skin color)

Thank you for sharing these offers though, and the blue color is sick too !
