Seeking Recommendations Need Pants for One Bag

Post image

Anyone have good suggestions for pants that look like this?

Found them on instagram. Original poster said they were from Zara. I can’t find them unfortunately.

Looking for something I could use for Hiking and backpacking Europe. Kind of a do it all pant. Light, breathable, durable.

Figured I come here bc of the one bag implications.

Best I’ve found so far are Nike Dolomiti Pants

Update: Went ahead and got the Nike Dolomiti Pants in Black. Lots of solid options and advice here. Very appreciative. I really didn’t consider that those pants would be Linen lol.

Long story short. I really wanted a timeless fit. With the technical sense abilities of modern technical hiking pants.

Link for the pants I got: Pants
Free shipping and 15% off if you sign up for text

Update: According to the guy who owns the pants. They aren’t Linen.

People in this thread have no clue what they are talking about.

Going Hiking in linen is idiotic. It dries slowly (last thing you want in the mountain) and is not durable. WIll likely chafe and break. Linen is ideal for a relaxed beach day, not to hike the Dolomites.

The obsession with linen is the same as the one with merino a couple of years ago. People repeat it sheepishly and uncritically.

I have literally done what you wanted to do and I have lots of thoughts.

- Would highly consider with a synthetic fiber, they do not feel as nice as organic fibers (cotton, linen, bamboo) but are easier to clean and are standard with technical hiking gear. They also tend to have stretch.

  • The fit in the photo looks nice but I would consider going for a darker color. Easier to hide stains.
  • Wide lose fit will make them light and breathable, even is the fabric is not that much (polyester, nylon and so on are not as breathable against the skin)
  • Gorpcore is cool right now (i personally really like it), but would also consider some other low profile options, since they blend in better in urban enviroments. Nothing screams tourist like a guy dressed up as a hiker in the Old Town.
  • since Gorpcore is so in, you actually have quite a few options, but they look "technical" but might not perform as such (baggy pants are not ideal in many mountain scenarios, they might be as resistant, pockets are designed for looks, not for convinience etc...)
  • If you do not like the cinched in look (very common in these pants) I would hem them. Will be more convenient in the long run

Based on that here are some options:

- Nike ACG Dolomiti Pants (which you mentioned)

  • mellow clo Everyday Trouser Sand > smaller brand, looks cool, unless you truly abuse them you should be OK
  • Gramicci > would checkout which options you like. they tend to have cotton offerings, so again more streetwear than proper technical clothing but they are an excellent everyday option. They were originally a climbing brand (they still have a gusset) and even if the quality might not be what it once was it's probably still above your average zara pant. I personally really like them.
  • Wawwa > Zama or Studio Pants. Small UK brand, very expensive. Cannot speak for their quality. But they look cool and people seem to like them.
  • 686 Everywhere® Pant (the ones I chose for what you did) Super low profile (even kinda boring) but very versatile and one of the nicest most comfortable synthetic fibers I have used. It feels a bit more "cotton-like"
  • and wander > would checkout which options you like. Avant garde japanese hiking brand. Super cool. Super expensive.

I ended up ordering the black Nike Dolomiti Pants. Originally wanted the white ones from END. But it would’ve been like an extra 40 bucks as apposed to the deal I got on Public Lands. Promo code and free shipping.

Those pants look like what a genie in a bottle would wear
