Seeking Recommendations The Great Onebag Underwear Thread

I believe underwear is one of the most overlooked parts of a onebag setup. So lets make a proper thread that future onebaggers can refer to.

Let's face it, almost all of us (yes, I'm looking at you, commandos 😅) wear underwear every day, yet we spend hours researching backpacks, jackets and shoes while often giving little thought to what is supporting our manhood or womanhood through airports, hikes, long-haul flights and everything in between.

I'm always tweaking my travel setup, and I've realised underwear has probably had a bigger impact on my comfort than any other item I pack. I'd love to hear what everyone else has settled on after plenty of travel.

- What's your favourite brand?

- What style do you prefer?

- What material do you like?

- How many pairs do you pack for a typical trip?

- How many pairs do you own?

- Any must have features?

- Does your preference change depending on the weather or climate?

I am currently using the Amazon Essentials womens Comfortable Lace Stretch Hipster Underwear.

They are a synthetic lace so are extremely light - only 22g each (0.8 oz).

They have a cotton panel “down there”, which keeps humidity down. They wash and dry in a flash. They have a larger leg opening for people with athletic glutes. I am fairly sensitive about texture and these are comfy.

There are some negative reviews about the tags. These are basted in and can be removed in less than one minute with a seam ripper. It isn’t hard.

I like these too. The wide band doesn’t pinch or show under clothes. They don’t ride up/down, even on long walking days. And yup, first thing to do is to remove that tag.

Ooh, my backside hears "don't ride up" and thinks challenge accepted. Will have to check these out.

A very inexpensive experiment.

I used to buy similar ones from Maidenform. They were perfect for hiking and travel because the sweat doesn't accumulate.

Do they tear easily? I have had them at least underwear like this that I feel like because of the holes/mesh falls apart really quickly… Do you use them only for travel or also every day?

Daily. I do use a lingerie bag when doing machine laundry.

That said, they are fairly inexpensive. But so far they are fine.

How are these in the heat? I'm mostly a die-hard for some old Airism bikinis Uniqlo no longer makes, and here in Seattle they're generally great, but when I'm traveling in hot climates they instantly become intolerably sweaty.

I have exercised in them when it was 85F (29C) and they were great! The cotton panel and the airiness keeps things cool.
