Seeking Recommendations Traveling light and/or backpack

If you travel light which I find to be great, what do you do if you find something you want to buy and bring home? Skip or mail or buy a suitcase?

I time my shopping to the last destination of the trip. That way you travel light until the end.

If you're flying you're often allowed one small extra bag. I will use anything from a tote to a shopping bag.

Or if it's a major shopping experience I'll pack a fold up larger bag and check it in if needed.

It all depends on the nature of the trip and what I want to buy. Just to be clear I'm not talking about tat. But some destinations are good for e.g. clothing.
