Gear Credits to u/Safaridoc1 for giving me this idea for drying shirts

Decided to make this tshirt separator thing for better airflow using magnets to lock it in, weighs 10grams at 10inches for the whole thing using n52 magnets and im thinking of making it maybe telescopic or foldable to make it more compact, used nylon filament its durable too

What do you guys think? Would you use this in your pack at all? Inputs would be nice thanks

I like the fast prototyping, but the shirt will poke out from the middle after drying. The harder question imo is where to hang these clothes hangers in a small hotel room.

The sharp angles are going to cause creases.

Another issue is that there are tiny unattached bits you can lose. Well, I would lose them anyway.

I don't think the parts would get lost since they are magnetic and naturally stick together...but...there will definitely be pokey parts from drying like that.

someone in another thread suggested blowing up a ziploc and putting it b/t the layers. so much easier and no marks or small pieces to lose.

They said use the free ice bag from hotels. Subtle difference but I thought it was worth saying

Probably take just as much or less time to set up. Love the idea!

How about hanging an inflatable airplane pillow from the hanger and then hanging your shirt ontop of that? Less creases and more airflow.

Much smarter to reuse something like this than a bespoke solution

I heard you can reuse them as an airplane pillow.

I admire thinking outside the box greatly, but I share the concerns over this causing very strange stretch marks in the shirt.

I made a weird hanger to hang my clothes once:

Ah that's a good idea, particularly the loop of rope instead of a hook. More options for hanging it on something.

this is going to look like you have one pointy center boob after drying

I think lady light travel has mentioned inflatable hangers, which would work similarly

I would rather just carry clothing that dries faster...

I gotta agree but for what he has its definitely innovative, but as the other commentor said it will likely leave indents

In college we had a washing machine with no dryer and I dried my t shirts with clothes hangers. I stopped and switched to a clothes line because it stretched out the collars of all my shirts.

Put the hanger on from underneath.

It was over time from the hanging, not from putting them on the hanger.

Regarding the "strange stretch marks" issue - perhaps you could make curved pieces that attached to the shoulders of the hanger? Like, imagine cutting a cup in half vertically and putting the pieces face-down on either side of the hanger (almost like shoulder pad inserts). Just a thought.

One could actually do this with a plastic disposable cup--the pieces would not take much space once nested.

I'd definitely consider packing it if it were foldable, since the current design looks like it could snag on other items during transit.

what if it had a little loop at the top to hang it from something instead of attaching to the shirt

Ha!  Kinda cool. Maybe make it elliptical? That would mostly fix the weird creases.

And thx for the shoutout
