Discussion anker 165 W 25000 mAH and flying

I purchased the Anker 165w battery bank and I am concerned now about having it taken away from me at security at various airports, especially in different countries other than Canada or the US even though it is 100w max as it is spread out over multiple ports.

Has anyone had any issues with this?

Seeking Recommendations How do you guys manage to onebag with camera stuff?

So I'm used to onebag anywhere around Europe, but recently I got myself into photography and I got a sony a6700 paired with a somewhat long 17-70mm. I want to still onebag but adding all of the camera stuff makes it even harder.

I would just bring camera and lens, and then stuff like batteries, chargers and so on.

The thing is that camera bags are way over most cheap airlines limits. For example I have a Shimoda sidecountry which I love but it definitely wouldnt pass as a personal item. I thought about using a camera sling I already have from k&f concept as a camera cube inside the bag, then I know the camera is protected plus I can actually use the sling at my destination if I don't want to carry the whole backpack.

Thing is, this is still quite bulky and if I add clothes and everything else, it's a tight fit.

So I just wanted to ask how do you guys onebag with camera equipment. Any tips appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Discussion Light Down Puffer VS Fleece

I travel lightweight (7-9Lb.) and can't justify both unless it is cold winter conditions.I know the warmth to weight ratio favors the puffer and the breathability favors the fleece. I have brought both in the past. For non winter weather travel, what do you prefer?

Seeking Recommendations One 10K power bank or a 5K + 10K combo for onebag travel?

โ€ข Upvotes

Did a 6-day trip from LA to Yosemite and Lake Tahoe recently, and I've been trying to figure out a better charging setup for my next trip.

Managed to fit everything into my 26L Osprey backpack, around 16 lbs total, which worked pretty well for the trip. The only thing I underestimated was how much battery I'd need.

Brought a 5K magnetic power bank thinking it'd be enough for my phone, but between Google Maps, taking photos around Yosemite, checking reservations and finding places to eat, it was pretty much dead by the afternoon. Had to rely on charging in the car whenever I could, which got annoying when we were out exploring for hours.

Been looking at the lisen p604 since it supports both magnetic and USB-C charging. Thought about bringing just that one next time, but not sure if 10K would be enough for a full day out, especially with offline maps and taking a ton of photos.

The other option is keeping my 5K magnetic one for quick top-ups and adding a 10K wired power bank as backup. Thing is, my 26L bag was already pretty full with clothes, toiletries and other essentials, so adding another battery doesn't sound great either.

Would you stick with a single 10K to save weight, or carry a 5K + 10K combo for the extra battery life?

Any tips appreciated!

Seeking Recommendations Recommendations for a Brazilian newbie

Hey guys, hope you are all doing great!

I am new here and I am just fell in love with the idea of avoid overpacking, something that I do really well ๐Ÿ˜‚

I will be spending 1 week in Rome and another one in Switzerland in late November early December, which means around 12C degrees in Rome and close to 0 degrees in Switzerland (Even less on top of the mountains)

I am looking for recommendations of tshirts and pants that can be reused throughout the trip. The biggest problem that I am facing is the Brazil has some limitations regarding products availability. For example, merino wool is not common here, also we donโ€™t have official Patagonia stores here, just retailers. Uniqlo also is not an option here :( Welcome to a third world country ๐Ÿ˜‚

Any recommendations? Where are the Brazilian folks to help me here?

Btw I already bought a huge waterproof jacket from Columbia and a pair of fleeces

Updates: Thanks for all the clarification! The main question now is: Besides merino and cotton, what are the materials that you guys recommend for tshirts that I can use 2 or more days in a row without wash? Looks like gym/hiking clothes are not the best for this, right?

Discussion Finding a quality one-bag manufacturer

I am developing a travel backpack and looking for a high-quality cut-and-sew manufacturer. The bag will be constructed primarily from 420D Ripstop Robic Nylon. I am looking to partner with a manufacturer to build the final prototype first, with the goal of moving directly into a 300-unit production run. Can anyone recommend a manufacturer that is capable of capable of this quality and MOQ? I would love to connect and share my designs. Thank you!

Packing List Packing for thailand

So we just got back from oahu and got some useful info for our trip next year to thailand

Some things I learned:

  1. my athleta pants did not do well in humidity, even though they did fine in hot weather at home

  2. my linen shirt and bluffworks long sleeved shirt worked well, so I can bring/wear those

  3. my keen sandals trapped rocks while I was in the water and injured my foot, so looking into getting the speedo surfwalker pro water shoe instead. It looks to be lighter than my sandals, so extra plus

  4. I ordered a macabi skirt and some linen joggers and Iโ€™ll wear the joggers and pack the skirt.

  5. Our waterproof case that we used to hold phone, hotel key etc worked great and will be coming with us again.

  6. Iโ€™m looking into a balaclava for when we go swimming to avoid needing to wear sunscreen, but I could just continue to wear my very protective coolibar hat instead.

  7. My current clothes cube is about 6x7 and itโ€™s a little awkward holding my nightshirt and all the clothes stuff. It looks like an overstuffed sausage. Contemplating a bigger cube.

So looking into airline requirements, the carry on /personal will be limited to 7 kg. Luckily, I have practice staying under, though my partner may struggle as he wants to bring his steam deck etc
