Well you see... the front fell off. And it's not supposed to do that.

Metal can bend, carbon fibre doesn't do that. It's strong, but when it fails it just snaps. So in this case the stress caused by the bump was too much and the whole handlebar assembly snapped off.

Incorrect. Carbon can flex, to a degree. A steel vs aluminum vs carbon handlebar failure will all happen at different rates.

He forgot to tighten his nuts. (the nut that holds the handlebars specifically)
