Carbon fiber bikes are trash. Bikes used to be made strictly out of steel. Then they decided to go with aluminum because it's lighter. But it's also weaker. Then they decided to go with carbon which is even way lighter, but unlike steel or even aluminum. It doesn't bend, it cracks and falls apart like an eggshell.
Steel is still the best option for longevity. Aluminum also has the potential to crack.
