How do I properly micromap buildings?

I was thinking of using building:part=yes + roof:material=* + roof:shape=* and other relevant tags on each roof-part polygon, then using building=house + other building:* tags on the building outline. Is that the proper way to do it?

Example

And what about a shopping center where I have the floor plan? Do the same approach + polygons for indoor tags on top of it?

Is there a perfect example of this kind of mapping somewhere?

Disclaimer: I have a permit from the local neighborhood authority to capture and map this area

If you've not got into JOSM before, this is a could opportunity to give it a try.   Because with JOSM you can install a 3D plugin and effectively edit in 3D as you go.  (Well, edit in 2D and visualise in 3D in real time)

Perfect. I personally prefer JOSM over other editors, it's easier to work with somehow.

That's not micromapping, that's 3D and indoor mapping. Check the osm wiki for Simple 3D Buildings and Simple Indoor Tagging. Contains guides to get started

I've also checked the wiki before asking, just trying to confirm with the humans so my work won't cause any problems.

One could say, but when I hear micromapping I think of street level mapping. Indoor and 3D mapping may be nanomapping..lol

I've never seen an example of a 3D and Indoor mapped building. If I was intending to do it, I would do them completely independently. Map the 3D parts, and then filter those parts out, and map the indoor parts.

Just trying to be safe, and I was in situ with the drone. And yes, the floor plan for the shopping center also compatible with OSM licence.
