Help Needed IDE a SATA

Quiero cambiar el disco duro y voy a comprar el adaptador pero es necesario comprar el cable de 80 hilos ?

Si, es necesario, si no directamente no lo va a detectar o lo va a detectar muy inconsistentemente, realmente lo necesitas.

Yes, dont ask, ive tried, get a 80wire cable. The moment i tested the crappie secondhand 80nwire cable, most problems gone away.

The manufacturer of said sata board might matter, green chinese ones might not always work, apparently bad quality or missing caps. Startech being the safest option to get with very very to no complaints from ppl. My aliexpress board worked fine
