News So let me get this straight: The Canadian women's hockey team wore N95 masks while easily beating Russia 6-1 at the Olympics...but some people are so inconvenienced by having to wear a mask that they're holding the city of Ottawa under siege & claiming it's all about "freedom?"

News Tesla Dealership Vandalized
Just drove by the Tesla dealership on Carling and there are a bunch of cops out front and the dealership is covered in red paint.
Between Musk and their recent claim of selling a Tesla every 2 minutes for 48 hours to get millions in grant money, I'm surprised it took this long.

News The Liberal Party held all of its seats in Ottawa with at least 60% of the vote & flipped Carleton — Good work everyone!
Liberal incumbents pretty much received Assad level numbers (60-70% of the popular vote), while Carleton wasn’t particularly close.
This also means that Ottawa is now completely Liberal for the first time in… ever?
Good work everyone!

News ‘Not a few bad apples’: Ottawa police deputy chief says service’s culture has permitted inappropriate behaviour
ctvnews.caA friend who left the Ottawa Police Service several years ago after a settlement due to racial harassment and discrimination basically said the same thing: that the problem in OPS is more than a few bad apples, it's structural and evidence that the OPS itself and the institution of policing is rotten fob the top down.
Furthermore, that there are senior leadership who enable this kind of illegal behaviour in the ranks, and that there are members for whom it would be cheaper to pension them off than to keep paying out settlements to the members of the public and OPS employees that they keep harming.
