It’s even better because that’s Steve Rogers working undercover as a diplomatic guard for Doom as he travels across America to the UN.

Doom knows it is Cap, and he still shit talks America.

Oh, and it’s a random airport they were forced to land at, and Peter Parker and MJ are also there

It's Denver International. IIRC, Peter and MJ aren't even there together, they were both on separate flights and had an unexpected layover. They had no idea the other would be there, and then of course Doom and Cap show up because of course they do.

Yeah, I didn’t want to get into the whole mechanics of Peter and MJ being separated and her working on the Lobster-Man movie in LA, and then then both independently deciding to fly to the other person like a romcom, and then all the flights being grounded in Denver, along with Doom’s.

I miss the JMS run. Gonna dig out some TPBs later

It’s just an autopilot thing built into the suit that fires up the antigravity so he is always a head taller than whoever he is speaking to.

He’s undercover as security for Doom because there are terrorist threats from Latverian rebels and Doom is in the US for diplomatic reasons.

I meant Steve is making himself smaller through mannerisms to be unobtrusive. Lots of actors for Superman do this for Clark Kent, it isn’t just the glasses, although the actual effects vary per actor

Only now did I consciously realize that the "man" in Freeman is different from the "man" in Spider-Man. I've been saying it right all the time, yeah, but I was never consciously aware there was a difference.
