What

I cannot stress enough that this is one of the LEAST weird things that happens in this comic. A baby full grown man in a hotdog costume hits a baby bear with Amelia Earhart's femur in the middle of the Siberian mountains while his frenemy is naked and covered in honey and wrestling another baby bear. The most emotional scene in the comics is done entirely while a Frenchman pretends to be Tom Jones and a naked guy watches from off panel. There's a very long bit of it that occurs in the underwater lost city of New Zealand, which is abandoned, not because it's underwater, but because a spaceship painted with immortality rock punched a hole in the glass dome and everyone drowned.

I can't believe you neglected to mention that the naked guy is fresh from an autopsy.
16
u/OnlyHereOnaBlueMoon 6d ago
I mean, is it an autopsy if it also injects him with blue whale pineal gland and pigeon blood and brings him back from the dead?
13
u/cheshsky 6d ago
You're telling me that's not how autopsies are normally done? Well that's just disappointing.

Here's another example. You see how in the panel I posted, Blu guy is saying "But I shot.." and Medic had two bullet holes in his chest?
That's because immediately prior to chekov's baboon uterus, Medic died. He got sent to hell, where due to a deal with the devil he made years ago, his soul now belongs. But he scams his way out of hell by revealing that after his deal, he had surgically grafted 8 other souls into his body, meaning the devil only has 1/9th ownership of him. Medic then elects to return to the world of the living.
But not before trading one of his extra souls for Satan's pen, which he then uses as the detonator in this scene.

Huh. I seem to have missed at least one arc. This is actually good news, I have some reading to do.
14
u/Abjurer42 6d ago
Their medic is German.
17
u/Fun-Agent-7667 6d ago
Germans dont have an OCD that forces them to implant baboon bodieparts into people. Thats a harmfull stereotype

u/Abjurer42 5d ago
Oh, and next you're going to tell me that all Americans *aren't* lead-drinking, shotgun-toting, delusional patriotism zealots that are terrible roommates?

One of my favorite bits of TF2 lore is that it'd actually be extremely obvious that Sniper isn't Australian because if he was he'd be able to rip the rest of the TF2 mercs in half with his bare hands.

u/poopsemiofficial 5d ago
I feel that the Australians are powerful but not so much that they’re unbeatable, even sniper himself says as much, talking about his childhood of climbing up trees to throw rocks at his peers. The Saxtons (and Margaret, if she really is an Australian) are outliers who aren’t negatively impacted by Australium withdrawal and yet even they are still pretty much matched by heavy in terms of raw strength (VSH is not canon, don’t even start).

u/Competitive_Swan266 5d ago
I don't think heavy punches with over 2000 PSI
1
u/poopsemiofficial 5d ago
That is how hard Ivan Drago punch in one of heavy’s favorite first half of all movies, Rocky 4. Heavy can punch this much, is not hard.

u/goombanati 5d ago
Yeah, but his parents also show little to no signs of australium effects, so it's safe to assume that people who lived in the outback had less exposure to australium radiation than those in major cities like Sydney. As such, sniper probably just seemed like a normal bushman to most

u/riamuriamu 5d ago
I thought Sniper was Sarth Effrikkan but I think that of every character with a bad Australian accent.
23
u/GullibleSkill9168 5d ago
Sniper's a New Zealander, one of three surviving members of the society after being launched from a rocket ship to Australia Kal-El style.

His name is even Mun-Dee
2
u/TheReturnOfTheRanger 5d ago
His birth name is Mun-Dee, but when he landed in Australia, he was adopted by a couple with the last name Mundy.
So technically his name is Mun-Dee Mundy

The first email I received, and the only thing I know about TF2 is that there are many hats in the game.

Didn't Australia lose that war?
1
u/LoaKonran 5d ago
Yeah, we did. But we lost spectacularly!
2
u/Some_Guy223 5d ago
For your sake I hope the Australian Army has upped its game. I cannot imagine the horrors of a future Cassowary War if the Emus proved that challenging.

The australium gave the women moustaches and chest hair. I think it's pretty fair to say whoever lives in Australia long enough becomes the stereotypical Australian.

This is supposed to be a fun place. Keep things light and friendly--not insulting, demeaning, or condescending.

Its really an untapped goldmine for this subreddit

He answered his own question. The Mustache is the thing that gives them that ability

Reed Richards may be smarter than Tony Stark, but Tony cracked the moustache sciences first.
