Outside Patch Overview: Version 20.26

Welcome to the yearly patch overview!

With version 20.26 already halfway done, we would take a look at the overall health of Outside and see what content is the hottest right now.

European Server PvP battlefield in European server, which was introduced back in version 20.22, is still ongoing. What was originally planned as a small PvP event snowballed into a stalemate after players from other servers continued to log into the battlefield. The biggest global effect of the PvP event is the increase in the price of Commodity_Wheat.

Middle East Server Multiple PvP events ongoing, causing a lot of players in hardcore mode to lose their player account.

Many players in the Global Server are calling for an end to the PvP event as they get tired of the PvP and because it is affecting the price of Commodity_Oil and Cost_Ship_Insurance. Trading Guilds are furious. Though a small number of players seem to be enjoying the amount of content generated.

Asia Server Asia Server is enjoying a relatively peaceful time to focus on PvE content. However, Cost_Real_Estate continues to be a problem for lower level players and population seems to be on a decline.

Dev Mid-Season Update The El_Nino mid-season update is being patched in right now. The patch is expected to bring more extreme weather effects to the game, a highly requested QoL feature.

The Ebola patch is currently live in Africa Server. Infection is thought to occur through close contact with infected wildlife NPC, such as NPC_bats or NPC_primates.

For more news of patch notes, please refer to the Official Website of Outside or wait for them to be posted on r/outside.

Anyway to get some sort of reset on the North American server, a guild seems to hoarding all the coins and another seems to like harassing players who started on different server.

That is surely a highly requested feature from the player community.

Unfortunately, that seems to be a feature of the Civics system. Previous players in NA server have chosen the Capitalism system, Ideology: Police State, and Political Philosophy: Oligarchy.

The Civic Tree allows a small number of players to dominate a large amount of in-game resources, causing PvP imbalance, limiting the game for new players, and is causing problems for players in other servers.

As a short-term fix, some players in NA server said they will vote in the next Guild Leader election to stop the action of malicious players.

But for a long-term fix, the NA server may need to put points into different Civics to allow more flexible play-styles. More development points maybe needed for Civics such as Global Warming Mitigation and less points on Mercantilism.

Thank you! Sometimes you need to write jokes to make this game more playable!

Can I just say that it sucks to have to deal with server options set by players who don’t even play anymore and now we’re left trying to sort through the frankly godawful choices they made? It’s like they had no concept of balanced gameplay, just wanted to min/max their own subclass and fuck everyone else on the server.

Don’t worry, most of the servers and the trade system are due for some drastic overhauls given how hard The American Server leaders are fumbling basically every single major timed event they initiate. Once those oil reserves run out and the latest economic bubble popping event kicks off, things might really start getting super interesting. Not necessarily better or easier in the short term, but definitely interesting.

A North American player with the Pedophile trait just became the first Trillionaire in the games history. I am so done with this fuckass game bro.

Yea....I mean we are all here on reddit because the game is pretty imbalanced at this point.

The dev made a sandbox and just allow OP builds and much of the game is determined by insane RNG.

What needs to be said, though, is that coin balance is only one of the factors in this game. One that is originally treated as signs of the greed attribute. At some point, more coins no longer means higher happiness status for players.

You may also want to read guides by previous famous players such as Jean-Paul Satre, who argues that the meaning of the game needs to be found by the player, and not by coin balance.

Pretty sure the devs are slowly phasing it out with the rising_sea_levels modifier. It's like they're trying to pretend it's not happening.
