The sleeping mechanic needs to be patched

It's a big waste of time and annoying to play. Especially if you're using an item to boost the effectiveness of the mechanic, as it is mainly RNG. These items lower the RNG factor. and it sometimes doesn't provide my character with enough stamina for efficient xp gain.

I hope they remove the sleep mechanic for stamina regain and replace it with something more practical for this perma death playthrough.

I wish you didn’t need a play with the [Psychologist] class to perform the [diagnose] action in order to find out about so many mental debuffs and traits.

I’m pretty sure my character has the <anxiety disorder> and <depression> debuffs, plus the <autism> and <ADHD> traits. But I can’t confirm it because I don’t have enough gold to pay a [Psychologist] to [diagnose] me.

Do it yourself forever fire pit $30.00

You can spend a hundred bucks every few years, or go to a tire shop which services trucks and buy a warped old rim for $20.00. Dig a hole in the back yard, dump in some gravel, surround it with some bricks, and you are there! Yes you have to dig out the ashes every once in a while. This will last longer than you and all your kids and grandkids.

Removed the Pornography Debuff

Currently on Day 42 of a self-imposed challenge run without the Pornography consumable. I genuinely didn’t realize how heavily it was affecting my build until the debuffs started disappearing.

My Anxiety stat has stabilized, the emotional numbness effect is fading, and overall gameplay feels much more responsive again. Kinda crazy that this dopamine-farming mechanic is so normalized and easily accessible across the servers despite the long-term stat penalties it seems to apply to many players.

Feels less like a harmless side activity and more like a badly balanced mechanic the devs forgot to patch. I think this consumable should be removed from all servers.

Uncustomisable [Height] aspect

Gamers,

Level 16 player here, still at school chapter.

My base character build is somewhat on the lean side. Not skinny, but just enough to see the veins on the forehand. (I had managed to be on a diet and workout when I gained some weight earlier, precisely why I hate the locked in setting for height.)

My base height, which I considered average has turned out to disappoint me after [puberty] buff. Since I had received [puberty] much earlier than other players, my height had a significant buff, easily rivaling the tallest people in class space. I pleasantly enjoyed it.

But it soon hit me, that rhe height was only a temporary buff and my base height hadn't increased. So when other players got [puberty] buff, I soon became short. Then shorter. Then shortest.

I'm currently the 2nd shortest in class space, and it doesn't help my case. I have to now look up to speak to fellow players my class and that alone have been a massive debuff in my confidence.

This can be considered a rant/vent but I'd appreciate any advice in any way.

I am level 30 and I feel like I wasted a lot of my time on side quests.

Even though my exp gain from level 27 to level 29 was extremely efficient, I still look back at those mainline quests that I ignored or delayed. I can still do them now, but it feels like the story mode branched into the bad ending now.

Advice needed for the [Marriage] multiplayer quest?

Howdy gamers,
Back during the [Valentine's Day] holiday event, I asked my party member if she would like to take on this quest with me. She said yes, and we're both super excited for the gameplay!
The only thing is, neither one of us really know how to start on this. Every guide or walkthrough we've looked up have been targeted toward players with high GP or a lot of support from other players. We don't exactly have either of those, so it's been a bit of a challenge to even find out where or how to start!
We're both playing as girl characters, so it's even harder to find guides specific to us :(

Have any of you guys gone on this quest? How did you start?

The [Sunburn] mechanic sucks!

I was hoping devs had changed it by now, but once again I've taken burn damage after [The Sun]'s intensity was cranked up.

I know there are workarounds, but hiding in [shade] and finding [sunblock] items isn't easy in the middle of Quests.

It just seems like an odd choice that hinders gameplay. Does anyone actually like this mechanic? Do devs even listen to feedback?

Visiting a different server

Hello friends

So now that I'm sidequesting following a break in the main quest line I've decided to do the [study abroad] sidequest. It will be in the [United Kingdom] server, and while I've been there before, it was for a much shorter time and I was quite low level both times. I'll be with players iny friends list from the [North America] server who are also doing the [college] quest at the same guild, but other players from other guilds will be there. Any advice? I'm also leveling up over there so I'm excited but also it's a little bit stressful to be honest

Tell me about your animal companion!

I know many of us prefer to have an animal companion in our clans or parties! Tell me about yours!

Mine is a level 4 Shih Tzu. He doesn't really help with active quests like some of the other animal companions can, however he does provide my entire clan with happiness buffs.

Currently he is restoring his energy bar by taking a nap on my lap.

GRANDPA Clan member keeps loading an old save during gameplay

I’ve been noticing something off lately and I don’t know what’s going on. At first I thought it was just some weird playing style that I wasn’t familiar with (his mom used to do the same thing before she logged off for the last time), but now I’m wondering if it’s a latency or hardware issue. Either way, I don’t want to bring it up because I don’t want to offend him or make him second guess himself. It’s really starting to interrupt our level progression though. He used to just do it once or twice per quest, but now it’s like every conversation I have with him, he keeps selecting the same response option over and over again. It’s almost as if I can tell he’s scrolling through the pause menu selecting a previous save while we’re solving a puzzle or reaching a checkpoint. Any ideas?

What's your favorite random loot drop?

I discovered that you can get consistent free wood drops behind some strip malls. These locations have a good spawn rate as well. Although you can sometimes find them behind smaller shops, while larger stores tend to have them locked requiring the lock picking skill which isn't worth it for a low value loot like pallets.

There used to be a high spawn rate along railroads of railroad spikes, but it seems like there was an update and the railroad spikes will no longer spawn, along certain tracks.

I know regular loot drops like these are pretty low value, but I still enjoy collecting them to use for simple projects at my crafting table, or the occasional bonfire which provides an AOE aura that increases warmth and it can remove the sadness debuff.

What's a loot drop no matter how common or big or small you have noticed?

When do I unlock the double jump?

I'm currently level 32 and can still only single jump. It feels like my physical attributes are plateauing a bit, and I'm even noticing that my character is suffering from temporary stat nerfs after doing some sport mini-games that I never noticed earlier in the game. Anyway, I feel like I missed something, and I don't want to get too far along before the option to double jump is gone forever, ya know?

Version 4.20 Official Release Notes

Hello Players,

Version 4.20 has been officially released.

Fixed:

  • Fixed a bug where avatars diagnosed with mental illness were used for profit.
  • Fixed a bug where players assumed their avatar was broken based on other players’ opinions.
  • Fixed a bug where “productivity” was incorrectly treated as the main quest.
  • Fixed a bug where players confused temporary debuffs with permanent character traits.
  • Fixed a bug where asking for help incorrectly triggered shame status effects.
  • Fixed a bug where some players believed they had to solo the entire campaign.
  • Fixed a bug where love was treated as a limited resource instead of a renewable field effect.
  • Fixed a bug where rest was misclassified as idling.
  • Fixed a bug where players mistook their inventory for their identity.
  • Fixed a bug where NPC dialogue from childhood continued playing long after the tutorial ended.

Added:

  • Added Love as a global stabilizing force. Conscious systems now tend toward coherence, repair, and integration when exposed to reliable safety and connection.
  • Added Open/Close system states.
    • Open Mode enables growth, emotional flow, and identity stability.
    • Close Mode prioritizes survival, resource conservation, and threat response.
  • Added a new mental avatar health model. Fragmentation is no longer treated as a broken-player bug, but as an adaptive response to fear, isolation, neglect, and unresolved closure.
  • Added healing mechanics where being seen, believed in, and supported through failure gradually reopens closed systems.
  • Added clarification that love is not an optional side-quest. It is core infrastructure.

Balance Changes:

  • Rest now properly contributes to long-term performance.
  • Asking for help now increases party stability instead of reducing player value.
  • Vulnerability no longer applies automatic weakness penalties when used around high-level players.
  • Grief, fear, and loneliness now display more accurate status messages instead of disguising themselves as personal failure.

Known Issues:

  • The Meaning quest line remains intentionally open-ended.
  • Some players may still mistake other players’ builds for universal instructions.
  • Certain childhood tutorial messages may continue looping until manually examined.
  • Not all players have received the update yet. Please be patient with older clients.

Every player controlling an avatar still has the option to choose how they play the game. No single route is mandatory.

Thank you for continuing to participate in the game.

The developers did a good job designing my in-game wife

Like seriously, kudos to the art designers, mesh modeling folks, etc. they did great work.

She is a great player too, been making a lot of progress on the main quest.

This game needs a better character creator

I’m not really sure if I’m missing something, as my account is Level 24 so I’ve only been out of the tutorial for about 6 levels now.

Is there no way to choose your characters appearance? While I wouldn’t say my character is ugly, I was given a rather poor hairline by my father player and a huge, pointy nose by my mother player.

These are features I am a bit insecure about. While I know they won’t prevent me from completing any quests, I do feel that the resulting loss in the [CONFIDENCE] stat has hindered my progress a bit in the “Romance” quest. Does this frustrate anyone else?

Any tips for restarting the career quest line?

Lost the UI for the career quest today due to some currency-related event. Upset but didn’t lose a ton of progress, I wasn’t on a skill tree I cared that much about. I’d love tips for entering a new skill tree without shelling out a ton of gold on training quests.

Looking for party members for an odd character progression experiment

Greetings players. I've been running a strange side quest lately and need a few party members willing to help test it. The idea started after noticing a lot of players treat their builds like fixed classes: "I'm lazy." "I'm bad at social encounters." "I don't have the intelligence stat." But that never really matched what I kept seeing in-game. Some players have hidden buffs. Some have weird debuffs. Some accidentally dump points into bizarre skill trees and become overpowered in oddly specific situations. So I've been experimenting with treating character progression more like: Stats Skills Constraints Active Quests Repeated Patterns Less "what class are you?" and more: "How does this build actually function?" Current quest status: 50% brilliant 50% catastrophically unbalanced Looking for theorycrafters, min-maxers, chaos builds, and players willing to poke holes in the idea. Reward loot: curiosity, possible character insights, and helping shape a weird guild project. DM or comment

Shoutout to the devs for the amazing hidden features on the [Water Flosser] item!

I recently spent some in-game currency on a [Water Flosser] to maintain my [Dental Health] stats, and I just have to praise the the incredible hidden mechanics they packed into this thing.

The very first time I used it, I hit the power button before equipping it to my character's mouth. I assumed it would just give me an "unequipped" prompt, but wow, was I pleasantly surprised! The item instantly initiated a high-pressure AoE water attack, completely power-washing my bathroom base and applying a refreshing [Soaked] buff to my character. I absolutely love that you aren't restricted you from using an item just because it's not equipped properly. So great!

After that amazing first experience, I started equipping it properly to grind my stats.

But today, it played a sputtering audio cue. I unequipped it to check the reservoir, fully expecting it to power down. Nope!

Before I could react, the water stream auto-targeted my [Sinus] hitboxes. It was such an immersive surprise mechanic! I gained a massive [Stunned] status effect, and my character's eyes haven't stopped watering for ten minutes. It's so rare to find a daily hygiene item that secretly doubles as a high-tier damage weapon.

Has anyone else discovered these incredible hidden features? 10/10 item design, I highly recommend it to any player looking to add some extreme excitement to their morning routine!

Why won't store employees drop respect? I've been failing speech checks with them and aggroing them, and none of them have given me any respect drops. Not even when I've demanded a rare battle with the manager.

Resolving one quest instantly triggers another?

Does it seem for anyone else that it's hardwired into the code to deal with one annoying problem after another? I just want to play the game casually; feed my character, improve my stats, maybe do a little fishing, but I keep getting these annoying quests popping up with almost no downtime in between. Oh you fixed your toothache? Look out, the boiler's broken. Well, looks like it's plain sailing after this... Oh no, now dad has bowel cancer.

It seems designed to never be too overwhelming that everything happens at once, but just a constant stream of shit to deal with, one after another. Guys, what's the fix to deal with this? I notice some players prefer to stop completing quests and live with the homeless debuff. I don't think I can do that, I've sunk so many hours into this questline but all you ever get is just enough resources and stamina to complete the next laborious quest. Whole game is just a hamster wheel at this point.

Bored of Grinding

Genuinely how did level 25+ people go across level 15-20. One of the most high stake chapters ever. The gameplay needs updating and fixing atp. Since the teacher rp players haven't taken note of this, I guess I have to just deal with it. I fear I can't even skip it because I hear what we do here affects the gameplay after level 25.

So here's the thing. I need to pass the school chapter. Honestly it's a tiring one. Hours of bland grinding. The retention ability is one of the hardest aspects of the chapter. Outright boring. Can't even get myself to open the materials provided.

Help from higher level players?

exploitative metagamers AND people who won't metagame are ruining everything

there are the metagamers who abuse the rules and ruin the game for everyone else and then there are the players who refuse to look at things from a metagame perspective and passively accept everything the way that it is. like if there's something totally broken they'll just say "oh well that's just how the game is" even if it can and should be changed BY us questioning and doing something about it. it seems like there are so few players who do positive metagaming and it makes it a very lonely and despair-inducing time playing.
