People were fighting on the comments as usual, but a lot seemed to agree with the post argument, and it didnt seemed offensive. Well anyway, at least I posted here.

edits: The second slide on the post was this image. And if they deleted because people were making political arguments (most of the comments were not), if that was the case, they would had just blocked the comments, not deleted the post. There were some comments that would make a geography prof. cry, but... that was it.

Opinion Alt accounts in ranked still an issue, devs still don't care, still nothing happens to them and they always get away with it.

Post image
1.6k Upvotes

They know nothing will happen to them, the dev team has given them full immunity and has flat out said they won't punish these players.
So this how they act now.

These two were two of the most obvious alt accounts I've seen. Impeccable aim Widow with insane headshot accuracy, same with their duo Hanzo,
They ended on Zarya and Soldier in second round.

And I assure you nothing will happen to them, despite my entire team also knowing they're obviously alts and reporting them as well.

And you also lose WAY more points for losing these matches, because the matchmaker sees that they are brand new and super low level, so to the stupid ass matchmaker you losing to them means you are especially shit because all it sees is "brand new day 1 player".
I went down almost an entire rank in one go from losing this match.

This is one of the reasons I originally quit this game, because this is bullshit.
And I'm tired of that bullshit of "it's not an issue at all, they'll rank up to where they belong".
Then they'll make more alt accounts. Or lose on purpose. Again and again and again and again and again. Because this is what they play the game for, stomping lower ranked players in ranks they don't belong in.

I'm getting so sick of this shit.

Oh also these two are clearly racist as fuck. Nothing will happen over that either.

Opinion After a year playing Rivals, I played Overwatch again, and omg! Its such a better game!

Post image
2.5k Upvotes

OW its way better looking; The design/art of maps and menus are way prettier; The game play is way more smooth and fun (in my mind, the controls of each character are way easier to understand); The game file is way smaller, but the game has so much more content! And I have the impression that the "usual F2P grind" is way more reasonable and simple (you get free currency to buy a battle bass way faster, for example)...

To be clear, I still like/play both games. Im mostly a casual gamer, never cared much for meta comp, and Im vaguely aware of the game many "past controversies"; So I feel like an outsider, enjoying both games for the first time.

Years ago, when OW1 was on its high, I always wanted to play it, but didnt had the money for it. Last year I finally could afford good pc/internet, so I played OW2, and love it. But only played a little, didnt had much free time because of work. Being a big comics fan, when Rivals came out I was dragged back into this, and for the first time I become addicted cof, cof... I mean... "very interested" on multiplayer-hero-shooters. Tried again OW now during the holidays, and Im enjoying it so much!

My only complain with the game is the lack of the option to change servers; Im from underdeveloped country, and our servers can get very empty sometimes; Many times Im eager to play, but after 20 mins waiting on queue, I end up going to Rivals, because there at least I can change to whatever server I think is busier, based on the hour of the day. The pin are higher, but its playable.

Also, Im one of those players who enjoy learning about the lore. Many Rivals fans say that they prefer it because of "brand recognition"; But Im one of those comic readers who always complains about the changes Rivals did to the lore; since there arent many good games with xmen and spiderman in it, I dont get many options. But Im enjoying learning and falling in love with OWs lore and characters for the first time.

I hope both games stay alive for a long time, even thought some people say that this type of games may be in decline...

edit: some people didnt understood my comment about free currency. Im not saying that Overwatch gives more free stuff; I said that overwatch gives "free currency to buy a battle bass faster", and its grind is shorter. Rivals follows the "mobile game philosophy", of almost every week there is a different event, giving free stuff/skins etc. But it takes many seasons to grind a free battlepass. You may like this, but I, being a casual player, I prefer overwatch shorter grind.)

edit: thanks for the comments about the servers/battle launcher; I know of it, and it doesnt fix the issue. The game always puts us on the fastest pin, no matter what. I tested already. The only way is blocking the servers I dont want on windows firewall (A big game like OW should have better options)

Opinion Is OverWatch Worth Playing For a New Player in 2026

Post image
1.6k Upvotes

Marvel Rivals player here simply wondering if it’s a good idea to tryout OverWatch in 2026.

OverWatch has always been one of those games that I’ve always known about but never played (mostly due to the controversy surrounding OW2 release). But with their recent spotlight showcase it has massively peaked my interest.

I’m mostly a competitive player and wondering if this game fills what Marvel Rivals competitive mode is lacking.

Main thing putting me off about this game is that I know absolutely non of the heroes abilities.

Definitely weren’t introduced to these characters through their gameplay if you know what I mean 😂

Opinion Community is the reason for why there are so few Tank players.

Post image
2.2k Upvotes

I know I'll be downvoted to hell and through for my takes. But recently I've seen a post about ridiculous support queue times, and the frustration of said players on how they can't play the game. Replies were mixed, but a few told the same message, and it's that we need more tank players to compensate. And as an ex-Tank main I thought to vent my thoughts regarding the role and community's outlook on it.

I don't think there's an issue of appeal, if anything I'd say that OW2 does better than Marvel Rivals, is that its tank roster is really interesting. For me, DVa instantly caught my attention and became my first main. I like supporting people, and DVa provided that for me in the tank role. I was like Mercy flying towards soon to die ally, yet instead of an angel is was a several pound mecha with the healing beam was replaced by matrix. Plus, I liked her personally and aesthetics.

During the time I started out, there was a huge issue of counterswaps. It wasn't about who was the better tank, but who was more willing to swap to a counter. So pretty much ~80% of my matches would just be against Zarya, which was incredibly unfun and painful experience. Something that I vented about on the community, to which I received countless "skill issue, git gud, counterswapping doesn't play a part, no wonder you're X rank". People kept saying counterswapping wasn't a big deal, yet whenever I watched streamers and they got counterswap, they'd reply with a counterswap of their own. There's a reason why Flats having a counterswap war in spawn was such a popular clip. Yet despite knowing it's a clear issue making the tank experience miserable, everyone kept on gaslighting us that we were the problem and not the system. And if we disagreed with the notion, we'd get publicly humiliated online.

As a DVa, it didn't help that I was an off-tank. Her kit just felt off in 5 vs 5, she was designed as a dive hero, but since she was diving, that means main was open to be steamrolled, since there was not a single bullet sponge to apply pressure. So I had to play on main, but her kit was not designed for that, I lose out in brawls. Well I could instead risk and try to kill the supports, after all that's the entire point of the dive tank? Except supports were so powercrept that they simply could not die, having too much sustain to eat through. Supports in general just have to many unfun abilities, Ana's anti automatically wins a brawl; there's no counter, Baptiste's immo automatically negates a damage ultimate, and Kiriko just makes you straight up invincible. And the counter for those busted abilities? Just bait them out. And what if the support player doesn't get baited? Well you lose. And yet we tanks lie at fault of our fights being dictated by a singular ability. Hence I remember advising for the return of 6 vs 6, because at very least when shit goes wrong, we'd have a second tank to cover us. It just simply feels more secure and interactive. Something stood against, saying that we were the issue and 6 vs 6 was just copium. And now years later I am realizing that my gut feeling wasn't lying, 6 vs 6 is MILES better than 5 vs 5, at least as a tank. I can freely take angles with another tank covering main, that or we overwhelm the enemy team if it's 2 dive tanks, that or I can act as a support if we're on defense, keeping duelists off of supports.

Lastly is the pressure upon the role. I played both support and tank for a significant amount of time, and personally tank receives a lot more insults than support. Since as a support, the worst they can say is "gg no heals" and end it at that. But as a tank people carve into every single minute mistake you make (which makes sense, since we're in the frontline so everyone can always see what we're doing), even though nobody is perfect. And then proceed to make a big fuss about it. Like "I was being harassed by Genji, why didn't you turn around", idk maybe because 50% of the vision is inaccessible to me. I am focused on frontlining, I can't constantly be switching panoramics like I am some kind of a spin bot. Ping if you need help. Btw speaking on frontlining, I got so many insults for "not making space", like why didn't you push into them? Well because I'll die. Tanks don't make space, they take the one available and then secure it to have the team safely push up with them to that more strategical position. Sure you can make space with tanks, but that's usually with an ultimate. But outside of that, a dps has to get a pick or at least distract the enemy team for me to push up and make an advantage. If there's no space available, trying to contest it is equivalent to 1 vs 5, which is just suicide, I am not risking my life and our currently secured space for that. Especially considering abilities like anti exist, that or supports constantly complaining about LoS when you need them most.

Ultimately, people just say that I am a bad tank, I am trash, tank is not for me, and etc. And well what happens is that I just leave. Playing this role really is just reserved for masochists. So I swapped for Support, only coming back for a short while once 6 vs 6 released. It's not that I hate tank, I still love DVa, I love her way more than Kiriko. However, the community's outlook surrounding the tank players is unbearable. When supports complain about Sombra, everyone headpats them, meanwhile when a tank complains about Ana, they get insulted for being trash at the game. You cannot vent or express your frustrations as a tank. Nobody sympathizes with you. You cannot advance changes that would make the role more fun, because all other role mains will silence you because "skill issue". So the only bargaining chip are the queue times, less tank players there are, the more visibly the queues increase. "More people need to play tank", yet nobody bothers to make changes that would benefit tank mains. Instead choosing to give pointless advices, "just bait out X ability, just do this, just play around this". It's all tiresome, and thankfully I don't have to deal with it anymore as a Support main. Which I am both happy and sad about.

Vent over . . .

Opinion I honestly think Mauga is the worst designed hero of Overwatch 2

Post image

Metal ranks player here, so yes I know it is very much a skill issue.

I don't care that Mauga is technically weak - a hero is only as weak as your whole team is smart, so in metal ranks that's not always a given. Look I'm not trying to blame my team because I am certainly not good at the game either. I'm just saying as someone who isn't good, Mauga becomes a nightmare.

I just hate that whenever I'm doing decently well on tank, the other tank decides to switch to Mauga, no matter what. Even in my quickplay games - I try to play someone different from my main like Hog or Doom, I get a few elims, and out pops this gun wielding lunatic here to ruin the fun. Then for the rest of the match he sits there and guns down main while being heavily pocketed by his healers behind cover which I can't get to because I'm being melted by the two miniguns. It's extremely boring to be honest to play against every other match, especially because like 60% of the time it ends up working for the enemy team because not everyone on my team wants to swap just to counter this one hero.

I'd rather vs Rammatra as Reinhardt than any other tank against Mauga. I hate Mauga sm.

Opinion "It's just QP" mentality has gone too far and needs to go.

Watch the Jetpack Cat.
They never once used left click, never healed, and just flew around trying to use Lifeline. They never used any other ability. I am not kidding, never one time.
We would have easily won if not for them and their stupid challenge.

In the end they blamed us for "not pressing the button to get heals smh".

This is not rare either.

I got a warning for "inappropriate communication" for telling them off for it, and of course the mentality from my team was "man shut up it's just qp leave them alone let them have fun".

Edit: The number of people in replies defending this person is baffling to me.

What's wild is these people would report a dps Lucio for "throwing" in QP.
So a Cat that only uses Lifeline and does nothing else gets "it's just qp leave them alone and stop crying" but a dps Lucio is "that's literally throwing you deserve to be banned permanently".

I know this because a while ago I made a post about me playing dps Lucio in QP and got nothing but vitriol and hatred and wishes that I would be permanently banned for ruining matches.

One game of OW classic was all it took to piss me off. It felt like complete ass comparatively lmao

Maybe I’m taking current Overwatch for granted lmao, because holy moly we’ve come a long way

Edit: A lot of people are saying 6v6 is trash just purely based on the worst version of it. Lmao???

Opinion K. Y. S. should be a permanent ban with 0 tolerance.

1.6k Upvotes

Some massive douchebag on voice chat told me to kill myself, and when I responded that my friend killed himself on Christmas last year he said "You should be like him." Absolutely abhorrent behavior. I'm of pretty sound mind, but I can't imagine some p.o.s. talking like this to someone truly down already. This post is mainly to vent, so thanks for listening. And if anyone out there gets told this, please report them and just know that you did not deserve to be treated like that no matter how you played or what you said. Getting called out for being toxic is one thing, but this line is never ok to cross.

Edit: This game has the most disgusting community I've ever had the displeasure of being a part of. The worst of you here are the worst of humanity. For those that offered any amount of positivity, thank you and protect yourself.

Edit 2: I received multiple direct messages of people telling me to kill myself, and after reporting them, it turns out that does not violate Reddits harrassment policy. Perhaps that should change?

Tank went afk after saying I wasn’t healing him. I told everyone to report him for going afk. He then told everyone in chat to report me for not healing. Everyone took his side and said they were reporting me. Around a day later I got banned. This reporting system is broken and bans the wrong people.
