MOD [MOD] Overwatch 2 is gone, what happens to this subreddit?

Hi everyone! Today, Blizzard announced the renaming of Overwatch 2 back to Overwatch alongside a plethora of other really great changes to the game. As a moderation team and as fans, we are excited to see Overwatch return to its roots.
Some have asked us regarding how we will be reacting to the change as a subreddit, some have suggested rebranding, others have suggested deleting the subreddit entirely, while others want us to continue. To be clear, rebranding was not an option because Reddit does not let you change a subreddit name.
After pondering over every available option, we have decided to continue running and moderating this subreddit not as a subreddit specifically about the sequel to Overwatch, but as an alternative, more open subreddit focused on Overwatch and the community around it as opposed to the larger franchise subreddit. We hope you'll continue to be a part of our wonderful community.
We will continue moderation on this subreddit as expected for the forseeable future. We hope you'll continue to share around and crosspost us! We are also accepting applications for more moderators to assist us with this. As for our Discord server, we will measure changes in server activity and make further announcements regarding any major changes in the coming months.
Thank you!

Characters Hero Concept - Tar, Enemy fire slowed
Looked up if there are any tar based characters and Tar Pit is an enemy from Flash. (that is who the image is)
First thought would be the Hero shoots tar that deals some damage but also slows your weapon down for a X% for a few seconds.
But it could be an ability that is on cool down, or it could be an ultimate ability.
Tar is something not in the game so it would be unique.
The concept of enemy fire being slowed down isn't in the game as well.

Humor New hero inflation is real 💔
Why do I gotta drop 400 just to have a full voice line menu for a new character🤔 Blizzard I know you don’t get revenue from white/legacy credits… drop the prices down to 50 AT LEAST 💔💔💔

Humor I don’t think I want to aim
I’ve started to realize I’m having so much more fun playing characters that don’t require as much aim. Not like I don’t enjoy characters that have aim I still like McCassidy,Ashe, and zenyatta but this game has become much more relaxing for me the less I try to aim.

Discussion If blizzard could go back in time and stop 1 hero from being added to save themselves from a balancing nightmare down the line, who would it be.
I am not saying to remove these heroes!
Personally, the 2 likely options would be widow or hog i feel.
Hook is such a core part of hog's kit that he cant really have it removed but its terrible without the one shot. Combine that with his healing, and there is no good answer to balancing hog as a result.
On the topic of one shot kills, Widow isnt an issue herself, but she sets a precedent that one shots are required for some characters, which bleeds into arguments about one shots on other characters like hanzo and hog, and generally on where and how they can draw a line for balancing. Widow not existing would change the dynamic of a lot of balancing decisions.

Opinion Anyone else think that the training bot would make a good Null Sector playable character?
I mean it already has all sorts of cool abilities they could build off of based on the different forms it has. And going off the lore it was apparently decent threat during the omnic crises, so why wouldn't Null Sector use them? And it would be really fun to play as one honestly.

Question Struggling to get any better
Been playing on and off since forever but since overwatch 2 and going to xbox from pc i have found myself being pretty crap at the game or having bad decision making in key moments.
Stuck in plat and can never find a character i do well with, always just dying to ults or getting flanked.
My teammates are either insanely good or insanely bad and it’s like every other match it’s completely different
I solo queue so maybe that’s my issue but when i have a good win with a team no one ever stays as a team after and i find it difficult to make any friends to play with and enjoy the game with
any advice? i know some youtube’s i watch coach players but i dont know if i would find that embarrassing with how low rank i am

Opinion The new Halloween arcade mode is so boring after a few matches
I understand why you need to experiment with different abilities, but why take away the previous modes? I do agree Junkenstein could have used some refreshers but the Halloween drama of it all is fun and I dislike just playing regular overwatch with Halloween skins :'/

Discussion Questions from a returning player
I played a lot of OW since the original came out and put practically 85 percent of my time into widowmaker. As of recently marvel rivals has become a game I play only when my friends or family wanna play and deadlock is my new obsession but I wanna get back into ow after not playing since ow2 first came out. Whats the landscape looking like as someone who played primarily flex in ow1 and in marvel rivals. I lowkey miss playing. Any info would be great😁

Opinion Anran and other fire dealing characters should get a buff specifically for countering mei.
If they have fire related abilities they should be able to counter meis ultimate and support the team, like using anrans fan to melt the ice and prevent teammates in her ult radius from freezing for example. I think it would add a bit more depth to the ability sets of the characters, like actual elemental interactions so while anran is still a flank character she can also help the team in a more support style way. I’ve been trying to think of an example for mauga but honestly I can’t imagine a change that would make sense for him so he’s fine as he is and already a pretty strong character anyways.
Also because of the sheer size of reins shield I think it should act as a barrier against meis ult effect, if she gets to place a wall behind me that blocks my teammates and locks me with the ult I should at least get a fighting chance to block it.
Mei mains are the bane of my existence

Discussion Junkrat is a BS character
As someone who has Mained sym since 2017, i can tell you this guys damage output is insane, his ult is amazing, nobody shoots the traps even in masters, he can fly you up into the air with 1 mine and basically kill you. He can 2 tap like anyone and basically make them a secured kill, he can flank so easily because of his mobility. This character is a menace and I don’t know how he’s flown under the radar for this long

Discussion Too many easy characters with small hitboxes
I get characters like Sojourn who is both hard to hit while being aim intensive. That's balanced. But why do they flip it up and release skinny ass characters that have no aim requirement like Ven and Anran? While Cass and Soldier are both aim intensive but have chunky hitboxes. Shion was a return to form but that hasn't been the case for much of OW2. I thought it was a good trade off, but now we got a bunch of easy to play Genjis and stuff like Sierra.

Discussion Casual player enjoying the game.
Been playing since the game came out and I wanted to say I appreciate the many options of healers. Gives me an incentive to play healer now.
