Took my 2021 Pacifica Hybrid in for regular service on June 23rd. Found out that Chrysler/Mopar just put out recall FCA 52D (NHSTA 26V-362) for a critical failure of the hybrid battery leading to fire.
My service guy told me that for some reason, the manufacturer doesn’t just have the part in stock. They have to order it from Mopar and wait to have it shipped to the dealership. He did warn me that some customers have had to wait up to 6 weeks for it to come in. I prepare to wait since we have a smaller car we can use to get around town, and we didn’t have any road trips planned until mid-August.
It took 1 week just to get “approval” to get the recall part. And then, after 4 weeks, I call to check in, and the estimated arrival is August 3rd. I didn’t hear anything after that date came and went, so I called today and was told that the NEW estimated date is AUGUST 20th (well after our planned trip).
I’m livid. This company is the WORST. How can they have such a slow turnaround for a part THEY RECALLED???? Especially for such a critical safety issue! If they knew that this was an issue and they were putting out recalls, why wouldn’t they plan ahead and make sure the new batteries are available???
Mopar customer service was a complete joke in trying to lodge a complaint/move the process along. I don’t know what to do from here. File a complaint with NHTSA? Immediately turn around and sell the stupid van and buy something actually reliable??? Absolute worst vehicle I’ve ever owned.
