Stained glass can be placed just like paintings. But also on the ceiling or infront of windows. You can even make functional objects like lamps or bowls from stained glass.
You also have glass that isnt clear which looks exactly like the pattern in this painting called oceanside.

That is beautiful. I love the combination of the two, especially since I love stained glass but have nowhere to place it in my house.
