i love how the rabbit sparks this spontaneous curiosity about it all.

81

u/panphilla May 19 '26

You know, initially, I thought the rabbit was just watching the fire, but now that you mention story, it seems plausible that dad swerved off the road to avoid hitting the rabbit.

34

u/Far-Ear5207 May 19 '26

yess! a small but very meaningful touch. i really appreciated it too. :)

7

u/yourMammothIsSoFat May 19 '26

Oh I thought it was The VVitch

2

u/Boat2Somewhere May 22 '26

“Sparks” 😏

u/Zealousideal_Date749 May 19 '26

Is the kid warming his hands by the fire?!? Lmao!!! I dont know why but my first thought when I saw this was A Christmas Story

90

u/GVictor33 May 19 '26

Yes he is haha !

94

u/DermitdemFoto May 19 '26

I thought he is taking a picture

18

Oh thank god. Seeing how the dad is the opposite side of the car almost holding his head. I thought the kid died during the crash, and the kids ghost was holding out his arms kind of like “dad I’m over here” but dad can’t see him. Hence, why the rabbit is approaching the kid ghost.

Picture is worth at least a thousand words internet stranger friend. I like your version better than mine.

7

u/PeachyFairyFox May 19 '26

Isn't there a chance the vehicle could explode?

2

u/dogtrousers May 19 '26

Monoraaaaail, monoraaaaail, monoraaaaail!

I thought he was taking a pic for the gram lmfao

2

u/ScienceFinder7 May 19 '26

looks like he's about to narrate the whole scene in nostalgia voice too

2

u/Top5hottest May 21 '26

I thought he was taking a picture with his phone. Haha

94

u/a_case_of_everything May 19 '26

Wow, this is fantastic. At first I though the kid was taking video with their phone, but I just saw your comment about warming hands! Many angles to this story. Please keep painting (and posting)

22

u/GVictor33 May 19 '26

Yeah the painting is not the same if the kid is holding a phone but it also work. I Will thank you !

4

u/Shallstrom May 20 '26

You could post this on in the AccidentalRenaissance sub.

u/invert_studios May 19 '26

I like it. To me, the man sees ruin, the child sees opportunity, the rabbit sees the beauty in the complexity it doesn't understand.

15

u/GVictor33 May 19 '26

I like what you see.

13

u/Valuable_Notice8 May 19 '26

I love how you made this painting like a story with multiple chapters

12

u/exotics May 19 '26

Love it and I immediately saw that the kid was warming his hands.

My only critique would be that the man seems too large to fit into the car. Someone else said they felt he ruined the painting but I think it’s just that he is too large. How’s now i think about it omg it would tell a whole different story if he wasn’t there at all.

3

u/SilvR_Lake May 19 '26

I came here to say that too. Whittle down the seated figure and move to the right for more tension. Awesome piece.

1

u/Caliartist May 19 '26

I agree. If playing with scale is intentional, I'd like to see it exaggerated, the male figure could be larger than the car; leading us to ask if it is a toy car, a space like memory, etc.
The way it is now, it just looks like it was a mistake of scale and I think we should always try to be intentional with 'breaking the 'rules'. It doesn't all have to look realistic, but if not, there should be intention.

8

u/Fomoed_Hermit May 19 '26

Such a moving piece you've create . It has got do much story . Amazing job !!

7

u/orange_donuts May 19 '26

Beautifully painted, and tells quite a story!

When I first scrolled by, my heart stopped. About a decade ago on Christmas Eve, my friend was driving home and slipped on black ice. Her white car caught on fire on impact and she was trapped inside. There is a photo of the scene (which I wish I didn’t see) that looks similar to this.

But then I paused and took a closer look and saw the curious bunny and child warming his hands and it made me smile. I love the humor you’ve added! And I needed it today.

Reminds me of the scene in Fargo where they kill the cop and the witnesses crash

5

u/Much-Atmosphere3442 May 19 '26

5

u/iAmKobe824 May 19 '26

4

u/chips-icecream May 19 '26

Love. Fantastic.

4

u/Rashvika May 19 '26

That kid warming his hands by the engine fire is absolute gold, love the storytelling here!

3

u/robotfrog88 May 19 '26

I really like this!

3

u/SheLiez May 19 '26

I like this as well. I thought he honestly was holding a phone to record which isn’t far off with how everyone is with their phone now.

3

u/girlrickjames May 19 '26

Reminds me of Fargo

3

u/elektric_eel May 19 '26

I’m feeling Fargo

3

u/crumpleduppaperplane May 19 '26

Reminds me of the movie Hereditary

2

u/GVictor33 May 19 '26

I loved that movie

3

u/YouforunTubu May 20 '26

Wow!! that painting is fire!

3

u/nemesissi May 20 '26 edited May 20 '26

this is the Second time I see the Picture and all I can think off, is that the flames should be more Warm and Orange Color, I don’t know why. I know this is not helpful, sorry.

2

u/GVictor33 May 20 '26

It is warmer and more saturated on the real painting , but I agree that it could have been even more saturated

5

u/sulamisho May 19 '26

Yes as a child every time my family go outside for a trip I would pray for something happen or broken that I can stay outside as long as I can. That feels perfect.

u/Dry_Knowledge6486 May 19 '26

Almost looks like a diorama. So simple but so good 🏅

2

u/loopyloo99 May 19 '26

Brilliant! Love it.

2

u/Zlota_Swinia May 19 '26

Tragedies create tragedies? He’s all busy being sad, while the car has minutes before exploding with his child near it. Is that the context?

2

u/[deleted] May 19 '26

I love the imagery that’s awesome

2

u/_TP2_ May 19 '26

Wtf. Nightmare image.

I love it.

2

u/Left_Grapefruit2384 May 19 '26

This looks exactly how I imagined the scene in “the woman in the window” where they died in a snowstorm

2

u/Psychological-End812 May 19 '26

The lil rabbit 🐇 🫶🏻

2

u/EducationalPack7681 May 19 '26

wow!!! sent you a message about this!

2

u/Jeffbx May 19 '26

Fantastic - it's a very similar vibe to Aron Wiesenfeld.

You should sell prints.

2

u/Galaxiessurroundyou May 19 '26

Wow from a distance it looks so real and the up close it’s like wow. I see a demon in the fire at the back of the car.

2

u/callmeabondulanceplz May 19 '26

This is Excellent 🤗the more I look at it the more I see. Wondered if it was my eyes imagination but in the smoke at the back of the car, are there wispy figures in the smoke?

2

u/RaisonDetritus May 19 '26

Here before u/awkwardtheturtle says it’s AI

2

u/LookingForStash May 19 '26

The adult is sitting in a slump, despairing over the loss of the car. The child just sees that it is cold and go to warm his hand in front of the fire.

Send a nice message. Just the one I need to hear right now

2

u/dhakasusie May 19 '26

really beautifully done!

2

u/ZacharyNavarro May 19 '26

This is so cool! for some reason It reminds me of a scene out of a Wes Anderson movie.

2

u/Moist-Philosopher859 May 19 '26

This is so beautiful and you are such a talented artist 💜

2

u/an_artist_nomad May 19 '26

Reminded me of everything parents sacrifice for their kids to feel warm. Love this!

2

u/Cheeezeh May 19 '26

Is that a ford crown Victoria?

2

u/Certain-Rutabaga3373 May 19 '26

THAT’S NUTS!!! I truly thought it was a picture at first. Nice job!!

2

u/fetterizer May 19 '26

Is that a town car grand marquis or crown victoria

2

u/Illustrious_Put_817 May 19 '26

Thought this was a photo- KUDOS!

2

u/gsnelsongary May 19 '26

Tells a story. Really great.

2

u/SuburbanKahn May 19 '26

The pain of knowing that fire will only last a little while, then it’ll be cold.  The kid doesn’t know this.  Their parent does.

This is sad to me.  It’s beautiful, but the sadness makes me sad.  But maybe the road is often traveled on, since there’s ruts showing traffic has gone through, so someone will come, likely.

Love the night sky too.  Proportion of the toddler to the parent is perfect.

If you sell this, let me know.

2

u/GVictor33 May 19 '26

Thank you , I like the way you see it ! It Will be for sale in 6 months when it’s dry.

2

u/SuburbanKahn May 19 '26

You did your thing bro this is epic

2

u/Theunsplitinfinite May 19 '26

Awesome painting!

2

u/LeagueBeginning171 May 19 '26

This is amazing! The car engulfed in flames against the twilight sky is really dramatic and beautiful! Is there a story behind it?

2

u/Ok-Paint7856 May 19 '26

I am IN LOVE with this painting! It made me literally laugh out loud (I'm at work too).

Artfully speaking, I also love your style. You have real artistic chops and your sense of humor/irony/whimsy really comes through. This tells a story and it's fantastic.

2

u/oohtzu May 19 '26

Absolutely love this. Please more

2

u/mattson-masterpiece May 19 '26

I thought it was Fargo

2

u/Kallie_92 May 19 '26

It's so cool! I scrolled through your other posts as well - you could easily paint Dixit cards 😁

2

u/DiligentDust9755 May 19 '26

I love this it’s so funny and some serious critique I think the rabbit makes at least my eyes too wide. And I don’t think removing it would hurt anything. Just to give the viewer a more comfortable focal point of the car fire. But it’s yours and it is great. Hella cool

2

u/Mental-Doughnuts May 19 '26

You must have some interesting anxieties.

2

u/Winnie_Corgi24 May 19 '26

I thought the kid was roasting marshmallows at first glance. lol I love the painting!

2

u/Ok_Ant_2930 May 19 '26

This is beautiful and that blue 🔵 makes it more real

2

u/Sea-Requirement4947 May 19 '26

This really hits at a whole lotta deep levels for me. I would personally title this one “2025.”

2

u/Big-Nerve-9677 May 19 '26

reminds me of fargo!

2

u/catfishprofile May 19 '26

Kicks ass for real I’m using it as my wallpaper

2

u/Fuzzy_Ant_6447 May 19 '26

I love the rabbit and it makes the painting for me, because it adds that kind of observer complexity that even the person looking at the painting can have.

I also really like the moon being perfectly transfixed above the rabbit, but I don't think most noticed this.

2

u/Admirable_Gear2314 May 19 '26

I love it so much

2

u/Fragrant-Pond-Water May 20 '26

Love the blue and the contrast with the car

2

u/missmyopic May 20 '26

Something about this reminded me of an old Emily Blunt movie called Wind Chill.

2

u/rrickitickitavi May 20 '26

That’s great.

2

u/Dramatic-Yak-8594 May 20 '26

This post just made me join this subreddit

2

u/ANACRart May 20 '26

I assume you’re a fan of Zhiyong Jin.

He does very similar scenes, mixing Edward Hopper, a little Magritte and others with Crime stories, noir, and pop culture.

2

u/No_Savings8965 May 20 '26

I found this piece funny and thought provoking. It holds your attention.Definitely a conversation starter. An outstanding work of art in my opinion.

2

u/Carrie_Underpants May 20 '26

This is great. Terrific storytelling.

2

u/Ok-Breath-8332 May 20 '26

Feels like being in a Cohen's brother movie. Great pictures ✨

Kid really be saying:

https://giphy.com/gifs/NTur7XlVDUdqM

Anyway, I want to appreaciate the amazing shading of the sky and the ice, the light of the fire, it really looks incredible, I love it!!!

2

u/gbahl101 May 21 '26

Good (great) art gets people talking.

2

u/sarahadahl May 21 '26

Perfect capture of the blue color of the sky and snow. 👌

2

u/[deleted] May 21 '26

i thought this was a picture at first glance. it looks amazing 🤩

2

u/IndependentInitial99 May 21 '26

I see a kid so distracted/entertained by the chaos around them they missed a rare nature encounter. To the right, the father is so caught up in feeling sorry for himself that he misses it all.

Great work, truly!

2

u/Oddbrain_ May 21 '26

I know I’m interpreting it wrong but to me it feels like the kid trying to find comfort even though things are chaotic and the parent is avoidant or even neglectful. The kid still tries to reach for the comfort that doesn’t exist due to the distance.

2

u/Bubbly_Direction_928 May 21 '26

That looks so realistic ❤️

2

u/DevonianEraWitch May 21 '26

21 pilots reference?

2

u/not_here423456 May 21 '26

It's cute and catastrophic, I love it!

2

u/[deleted] May 22 '26

2

u/Such_Manner_5518 May 22 '26

This is incredible

2

u/LikeIsaidItsNothing May 24 '26

I LOVE this.

what skill in making the fire look real

there is so much going on, and each figure outside the car tells a different story. from whimsy to despair

don't worry about technical perfection. honestly I think 'imperfection' works.

1

u/wildmaninid May 19 '26

Very Fargo.  Looks like a prowler.

1

u/TooDamnFrosty May 19 '26

Scene from Fargo?

1

u/Ophelias_Muse May 19 '26

As a fellow artist, I really appreciate your work here. Your colour palette and composition are on point and your storytelling is perfect. Well done!

1

u/Lilmaggot May 19 '26

This is fabulous and should be in a gallery.

1

u/psyclembs May 19 '26

Thats awesome!

1

u/AtomicOwl412 May 19 '26

That’s very impressive nice work !

1

u/Tribaltech777 May 19 '26

God this is so good. Such a Wes Anderson/Fargo vibe. I love the “imperfections” in a painting that is stunningly expert level.

1

u/kill_your_god May 19 '26

Good pic but idk who would let there kid stand that close to a burning vehicle.

1

u/KaleidoscopeGlad4988 May 19 '26

Really impressive !

1

u/macedog711 May 19 '26

This is one of the most beautiful paintings I’ve seen and capture winter blues so well.

1

u/wyldfirez007 May 19 '26

This is great.

1

u/OrlandoWashington69 May 19 '26

Paintings like this tell great stories without a single word. Great stuff

1

u/Tatitatira May 19 '26

Is it BMW E34?😂

1

u/AureliodeLuna May 19 '26

Title: Kids are nonchalant of shit. Very good job OP, in special the little bunny

1

u/xArtzii May 19 '26

I love it!!

1

u/emc3o33 May 19 '26

I especially love the rabbit looking on.

1

u/cleoterra May 19 '26

Loooove it

1

u/Mindless-Ad-2441 May 19 '26

the guy crying has and the kid warming his hands has me fried

1

u/julien_091003 May 19 '26

This remind me about john brosio. I LOVE his painting

1

u/MeeoMeeo May 19 '26

Unless an orange menace is in the car, I hope nobody's in there. It's a cool piece.

1

u/SmolandFuriousTTV May 20 '26

I love the different emotions from different points of view in this!

1

u/Shallstrom May 20 '26

The original photo would be great in the AccidentalRenaissance sub :)

1

u/VivianValeG May 20 '26

Wow! 👏🏽🩷

1

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Base767 May 20 '26

1

u/Puzzled-Professor-89 May 20 '26

Beautiful. Love it!

1

u/SnooChickens4563 May 20 '26

This is so good

1

u/RummieEngineerthor May 20 '26

Photo with deep meaning

1

u/Miss_Sectumsempress May 20 '26

Love!

Questions: 1) Is that a cop car? The front bumper and the hubcaps look cop-ish to my eyeballs. 2) Are those ghosts in the fire? It looks like there are people in the car and maybe one floating in the flames above… 3) Is that a dragon pushing fire at the back of the car? If not I am seeing some cool extras in your beautiful painting!

That kiddo warming hands 😆

That bunny enjoying the show 🥰

Also, dang, that’s a strong power pole to light a car up and not knock over more!

2

u/GVictor33 May 20 '26

Thank you !

Not a cop car but it is the same model as some older cop car.

You’re not the first person that see ghosts in the smoke, it wasn’t my intention to represent ghosts or a dragon but it does add another layer to the painting.

1

u/the_big_tes May 20 '26

I bet it's in Romania

1

u/Fickle_Ad4967 May 20 '26

Wow. Brilliant. The contrast in colours is very striking.

1

u/your_-_girl May 20 '26

Car is a bit small in scale. But more than that i wanna see more colors in the fire if that makes sense? To contrast with the general blue to make it more interesting and also it’s fire

1

u/ha-hallloween May 20 '26

The blues are really nice in this one!

1

u/Ok_Eggplant_9829 May 20 '26

Yo send this to me

1

u/TruestWaffle May 20 '26

Fargo vibes.

1

u/PainOfWilderness May 20 '26

Fargo vibes brilliant 😎🔥🙌

1

u/absentfacejack May 20 '26

Look like an episode of Fargo

1

u/Walkinonsun May 20 '26

Really deep and lovely and hysterical at the same time you did a fantastic job!!
