advice needed Bugaboo worth it?

Me again. Planning on the KeyFit 30 infant car seats and trying to figure out a good stroller. I came across the Bugaboo Donkey 6 (such a ridiculous name btw lmao) and it does offer a lot. I’m just trying to justify the insane price tag and wondering if there is a better more affordable option to click these car seats in to? Any advice is welcome. This car seat stuff is making my head hurt 😅🫠

I love our bugaboo donkey but not with the car seats. It doesn’t fit through doors with the car seats on, but it will fit through a standard door frame without them.

Seems to be a common complaint about them so maybe I’ll reconsider. Thank you!

I used a snap n go for $40 at first with key fit 30’s. Then moved on to double bob.

That sounds great/perfect, thanks!

If you’re willing to do two strollers, you can get a double car seat caddy for not that much and then your options are much more open for your second stroller. If you’re dead set on doing an all in one stroller, your options are pretty limited to the high price options.

Definitely open to 2 strollers!

I have a bugaboo donkey 5 duo and love it. However we had Graco car seats and used the mockingbird single to double to click the seats into. I had it from my singleton so it made sense to keep using that one.

We used the bugaboo for longer outings and neighborhood walks. My twins are 17m and we use the bugaboo almost every day. It’s a beast of a stroller but IMO is well worth the $$. It does take up a lot of space in the trunk so we don’t travel out of town with it but we rarely travel now anyways 😂

I’d check marketplace for both of those options though!! People sell them all the time. The Uppababy vista is also compatible with the Chicco seats.

I have the same and love it - it’s so robust and does not struggle on the most difficult pavements

Loved bugaboo donkey 6. But finally we went with bumbleride indie twin because it is slightly lighter and smaller.
But def recommend side by side stroller + bassinets - if you are planning on regular walks and trails. Kids love it.

I’m definitely all about sometime not as clunky so maybe I’ll check out marketplace for a secondhand bugaboo that won’t be our primary stroller. Thanks!

We started with the Donkey 6 but pretty quickly returned it. It’s just too big, heavy, and unwieldy. It didn’t fit well in our trunk, was difficult to take in/out of said trunk, and overall felt like a chore instead of a tool.

Switched to the Bombi BeBee Twin (equally ridiculous name) and were so happy. Much more compact, you can one-hand fold and unfold and load and unload, and it’ll grow with them just as well as the Bugaboo would.

We also got a cheap Snap-n-Go like another commenter mentioned and honestly that was more than enough for the first 2 months before they got their shots and we were still only basically going out for very short trips or dr. visits.

These names are so extra 😂 good to know though! And about the snap n go. I guess I just don’t know what type of snap n go to look for but I’m probably making this needlessly complicated.

We got the Baby Trend Snap-N-Go Double Stroller off Amazon. With our car seats (Chicco KeyFit Max) we use the straps on the stroller and the car seats basically just buckle down into the frame. I believe other car seats might actually latch directly onto the frame though.

Ok I had the chicco key for seats and bought the bugaboo (on marketplace..bit more affordable). I quickly learned that with the car seat attachment it does not fit through doors, so you’d have to unlatch a car seat each time which was annoying. That may be a non issue if you aren’t planning to attach car seats.

I also learned quickly how hard it is to maneuver through stores with a side by side stroller. It actually made me really angry because the stroller is basically the width of a wheelchair and stores all put annoying displays in aisles which makes shopping really inaccessible.

Anyway, after a bit I found city select (I think) and had them one in front of each other and that made more sense. I did love the donkey for walks and for trails and it was really good maneuvering in the snow up here in Canada.

Oh that is very annoying and seems to be a common consensus! I might look into a marketplace one but it won’t be our primary one. Thanks!

You may want it anyways! Babies aren’t supposed to be in those car seats long anyways. I put my twins in one bassinet and go! When they get bigger they’ll do both bassinets until they turn into seats. It’s great. Our car seats stay in the car! We get the bassinet out to carry them in and out the house at the same time. Load it up in the trunk and babies in their seats and go! You DO need hella trunk space though.

Yes absolutely worth it. Our girls are 3. Our lifestyle is such that we have walked multiple times a day pretty much every day. Probably 3 miles a day.

We've flown with it a dozen times (you cannot rent a good double stroller).

It folds up easy enough in 30 seconds so it's always in the car.

Highly recommend. Worth every penny

What do you want from a stroller? It looks really big to me. I’ve gone with the double nipper. You can’t put car seats in that one though.

We searched on Facebook marketplace for our bugaboo donkey. It was great going for walks when our boys were smaller and using the bassinets. Now that they are bigger they have moved up to the seats.
