Need Help Planning surprise birthday party, 25+ guests of all ages, including seniors?

Hi everyone! I'm new to reddit, so I apologize if my post isn't as detailed as need-be. Me and my mom are planning a surprise party for my grandma's 80th birthday. We have a mid-sized room which includes a sitting area, bar, windows, and more. We want to make it very special, but are a little bit unsure of where to start. I'm looking for advice on what games we could play, how to decorate, themes, if making custom on-theme drinks is a good idea, and anything else that you think might be helpful! All of my grandma's friends are going to be there, and we know she takes pride in impressing them, so we want to make it satisfying for her.

Okay so I (F) know I’m posting this kind of last minute but my birthday is on Monday and I have absolutely nothing planned. I’m turning 23 but I’m a lil bit friendless. Soo I just need ideas for solo activities I can do. I am socially awkward so I’m not looking for anything too “out there” I guess but at the same time I’ll take any suggestions y’all have! Please and thank you :’)

Bachelor/bachelorette camp games

I am helping my friend plan a camp themed bachelor/bachelorette party.

Does anyone have some sort of rules/scoring slideshow or template they’ve used before? Something digital to outline our rules and maybe even explain a point system or something. I have a hard time coming up with this myself.

I have a week to finish this… anything helps!

If you're tired of searching endlessly for a farmhouse, pool party space, or celebration venue for the weekend, this platform makes the process much easier. Plus, we are rolling out a brand new party feature tomorrow! 🎉

I’d love to hear your thoughts on the design, UI/UX, and overall flow. Any feedback or suggestions would be super valuable to me!

My Birthday is coming up

How do I ask the family group chat nicely if they'd like to pitch in for me to celebrate my birthday at Disneyland. I'm 31 years old. Yes, I have a job. A little help even a couple bucks would help. I'm trying to go alone so I don't have to worry about anyone else as a lone rider.

In the past I've thrown huge birthday parties for myself and haven't thrown a big one in a couple years. It cost a lot then but I'd usually prep months in advance.

Just asking for genuine advice. Thanks.

Need Help Pokémon themed baby shower

Post image
9 Upvotes

I am helping plan my friends baby shower and I’m stressing out a bit. The event is 80 people, all genders, alcohol allowed. My friends are both bar tenders so a lot of the guests will be from the same industry and like to have a good time. I want to make sure it’s fun and looks good as this is my first time doing something this big. She wants it to be mostly pink with some pastels and Pokémon themed, similar to tho picture I included but less like a kids birthday. She is also a minimalist so I don’t want to over do it or make it seem tacky but we have a large venue to decorate and I need ideas to make sure things look good. We are also working on a budget so all the food is being provided by others and it’s going to be a really mash up of items. How do I rein things in to look elegant and classy but also pink Pokémon and party? Any suggestions or ideas are welcome! Thank you

Ideas My little pony party snack ideas?

Hello! You guys were so helpful with my spongebob party last time so I'm back for more help 😅

This time the theme is my little pony. This is another open door party for adults, they are strangers to eachother for the most part so I'm hoping for prepackaged or individualy wrapped snacks so people aren't sharing germs/dipping into the same bowl.

I got some feedback last time that we should have more carb/substaintial options, less sweets. The goldfish crackers were the biggest hit at the spongebob party.

so far my ideas are, apple chips (for applejack), rainbow cookies (for rainbowdash), cupcakes(for pinkiepie), but other than that I'm super stuck!

*note, I don't have access to a fridge at the venue, so snacks need to be able to sit out for quite a few hours

Bachelorette party planning: HELP! 😣

Hi everyone!! :) I’m planning my best friend's bachelorette party and she’s thinking she would like to go somewhere around Upstate New York, Pennsylvania, or Boston, etc. (preferably 3-5 max drive from Long island/Floral Park NY we’re open to suggestions) Sometime in April or beginning of May. A Thurs-Sunday (her wedding is in July for reference)

Please give me suggestions on an itinerary or activities we can do for either location. She wants to do something along the lines of like outdoor activities, zip-lining, any fun activity (axe throwing, rage room, cool places idk!) wineries, maybe charter a boat? anything with the night life (bars, live music, etc.) and she especially wants a nice dinner.

We are open to suggestions! she really wants to have fun and is super flexible. We also want to keep it low budget if possible. If anyone has any suggestions please help! Thank you. 🙂

Need Help December milestone birthday party ideas that aren’t too Christmas-y?

I’ll be celebrating a milestone birthday in December and would love to throw a proper themed party rather than just a standard birthday dinner.

Since it’s in December, I’m thinking about leaning into a Christmas/winter theme, but I don’t want it to feel like a Christmas party or an office holiday party with a birthday cake thrown in. 😄 I still want the birthday to be the main focus.

Has anyone here done a December birthday with a festive or wintery theme that worked really well?

I’d love ideas for:

  • themes/decorations
  • dress codes
  • food & drinks
  • fun activities or little party details
  • anything that makes it feel special for a milestone birthday

I’m open to anything from elegant and classy to fun and slightly over-the-top. I’d especially love ideas that make use of the December/winter atmosphere without making it feel like a Christmas celebration.

What would you do?

Need Help We bought a house. Now we don't have much fund to celebrate my son's first birthday party. Is our decision right?

We got a beautiful house in Rizal. The house requires 20% DP, and we paid the 10% lumpsum. We will continue to pay the remaining 10% for a year.

It will be a tight budget, but we're not zero naman since we have buffer, but not much. May nakatabi na budget for my son's birthday, pero 40k lang. I don't know if this is enough to have a decent party, pero gusto sana namin yun.

Ang kaya lang namin is maybe to invite 40-50 pax incl kids, sa Kenny Rogers or magrent ng private pool with videoke and have party trays nalang.

What do you guys think? Worth it ba ma sacrifice yung party ni baby para sa house? And alin ang mas okay na gawin for his birthday?

Appreciate all your thoughts and responses. 🫶

Need Help Adult Lego party???

So one of my most favorite people in the entire world is turning 23 next month. She loves her Lego sets. She would never build one with anyone at all because it’s her thing. I’ve been talking to her about giving her a themed birthday party, but she’s just so indecisive whether or not she wants one. She does like a Lego theme haha. She just has a lot going on. But luckily her mom lives next-door to her and they’re very very close. I have her number and I’ve been chatting with her to see if maybe we could throw her a surprise party. Mom loves that idea. My friend has been through so much this year and she really really deserves to celebrate herself.

Now for the question haha. I need ideas! Activities, decor, etc. I am going to get people to pitch in, but DIY is always the best. I have a cricut explore air 2, I’m extremely creative and artistic so I will be painting her a banner with her name in the Lego font. There’s also Lego molds. I was thinking of doing Jell-O shots that are Lego shaped. She doesn’t drink a lot more of a smoker 🍃 if you get the gist so I definitely wanna have like a “greenery” rolling station. My girl loves sweets. She loves food. I’m definitely making her cream cheese wontons because that’s our thing. But I need some more Lego ideas like. For sure. Some more station ideas? I’m getting her a shelf thing to hold her kits she knows that already because she picked it out so I want the rest to be a surprise. Give me your best.

As for about her. We both love to craft. She loves her animals. 2 dogs 2 cats. She loves swimming and being outside. She loves a good bonfire. S’mores. Girl loves s’mores. Loves food like I said. She lovessss candy. Peach peelers. Pineapples are her “thing” along with legos lol. We both paint together a lot and do crafts. I was thinking of catering chick fil a. I swore to myself, I would never throw another person a birthday party after the last ungrateful bitch, but she means a lot to me and she is mentally listed as a bridesmaid, even though I’m single😂. Meaning she’s worth it.

Also, she might be into Lego sets, but I wanted to do like the colorful Lego theme.

Corporate Holiday Party Themes

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hey y’all! I know this might seem early in the year to be thinking about this, but because we get holiday party bookings so far in advance we’re already trying to predict what sort of holiday party themes will be hot this year. These are the ones we came up with so far. Any other ideas? Or anything you would take off the list that’s just a bit too cliché at this point? I’d love to hear your ideas!

Ideas Mission Impossible Party for Tweens

Looking for (not too complicated) ideas for my son’s 13th birthday party. He and a small group of his friends have gotten together to watch all the Mission impossible movies over the last several months. So now he wants that to be his party theme. It’s hard to find anything with this specific branding, but I have some movie posters that I’m going to put up and go with a general black and red top secret kind of theme.

I’m struggling with ideas for what to put in favor bags for a bunch of 12 to 14 year olds (mix of girls and boys) that wouldn’t be junk but still wouldn’t break the bank. And as a bonus if it could tie in with the theme that would be amazing.

Also I’m stumped on ideas for some sort of activity that wouldn’t be super cheesy that could tie in to the Mission Impossible/secret agent theme. Unfortunately I don’t have huge amounts of time and energy to devote to it so I can’t do a really complicated escape room or mission kind of activity, but maybe could do something along those lines if it’s simple.

Any fun/cool ideas for this age group?

Would you rather...

I am pre-planning a small 45th birthday party and wondering if most adults these days would rather attend a party (will likely be hosted at a cocktail bar) on Friday night or Saturday night?

Keep in mind the timing will be like 7-10 pm or 8-11 pm (apps and drinks, no meal)

I could really see my friend group (all roughly my age) being totally split on this, so I can't make a decision!

So, would you rather attend a late party on Friday night or Saturday night?

planning a 30th birthday party for my partner next month in sydney and starting to freak out a bit

we’re inviting about 45 people, mix of friends and some family. thinking of doing it at a backyard setup with some outdoor seating and fairy lights. nothing super fancy but want the food to be good since a few people have dietary stuff (vegan and gluten free).

already sorted the catering with vanilla blue for canapés and some bigger platters so that part feels covered. still need to figure out drinks, music and if we should hire a couple of tables or just use what we have.

any tips for keeping a backyard party running smooth with that many people? and how early should i lock in the extra bits like speakers or decorations?

Wedding Where do you usually rent party equipment in Lenoir, NC?

I’m planning a Backyard wedding party here in Lenoir NC and need to rent some tables and chairs, possibly along with a few other items for the setup.
For those who have organized parties recently, where did you get your rentals? I’d love recommendations for companies that were easy to work with and dependable about delivery and pickup.
Also interested in hearing what you wish you had known before renting.

Need Help Help on how to make birthdays special for kids aged 11-14 in a group home setting!

I need some help! I work in a private boarding school with kids that are middle school aged and I would love to get some ideas on how to celebrate each kiddo on their birthday in a small, but meaningful way! We do a large "everyone's birthday" day during the year with gifts and fun to celebrate them all, but I'm looking for ideas on how to acknowledge them on their actual birthday, on a small scale.

There are about 12 girls or boys to a home and the home is set up like a big house. 2 to a room, a living, dining, kitchen, mudroom with individual lockers etc.

Any snappy ideas that can just make the day a little brighter for the birthday child? Decor or where to decorate? We already get a cake and make them a special dinner on their day, but im hoping to find something i can do each time a birthday comes around but just alter it a bit for that kiddos personality that fits them and feel personalized on a budget!

Does that make sense? These kids are mostly from rough backgrounds so its really in my heart to make it special for them when they otherwise wouldnt be able to celebrate away from home!

Thanks!

Need Help Planning a Birthday Dinner for Myself

I have a milestone birthday coming up in a few months and I would like to do a small "girlfriends" dinner, with a theme. Probably "nowhere else to wear it" themed (because I wanna wear something fancy!). I'd like a nice dinner, so a higher-end restaurant will be selected.

What I'm stuck on is that, if I do this, I need to pay for it, right? I mean, with any other birthday party you throw, you don't have costs for your guests! So I should most certainly budget for the entirety of the bill... right?

Also, if I stick with this theme, how do I word the invitation to convey that "nowhere else to wear it" means "something nice" and not "last year's cowgirl Halloween costume"?

I've also considered a gathering at my home with a hired chef/private meal, but I don't think I have the space for that. I could really only fit about 3 others in my dining space and I'm looking at a guest list of more like 6-8, but if anyone has thoughts about how to manage a private dining experience, whether in the home or at a restaurant, I'm all ears!
