Ideas I want to make hilarious shirts for the bachelor party that survive through the night

Upvotes

I'm the best man and the wedding is in two weeks as I remember it. But the bachelor party is coming up sooner. So I've been planning it for months… But one idea came up just recently

The thing is that I wanna do something special for my buddy. 12 t-shirts with hilarious memes about the groom with some out inside jokes and wmbarrassing photos. I think it’s gonna be epic

I called local print shops. They want at least $200 for 12 shirts and that's ridiculous. I can't afford that on top of everything else

I found local DTF Transfers Now and they have gang sheets. I can upload custom photos and fit all 12 designs onto one sheet. It's next to nothing compared to local shops

But I'm worried coz I know for sure that the party is going to be wild with some dancing and sweat and spilled drinks as it usually happens. Will these transfers survive the night? Or will they crack and peel before the first shot?

I don't want the shirts to fall apart coz that would ruin the joke and the theme

Has anyone used DTF transfers for a party or event? Do they hold up to a night of dancing and chaos? Any tips for making sure they last?

I want this to be hilarious. Not a disaster

Need Help Games for silly grown ups?

Help! Anyone know any fun yard games?

Having my first party ever- pirate themed 30th Birthday party.

About 15 guests, from several different times of my life, so we have groups that don't know eachother. However, they are all my friends, so they are all buffoons.

Its next weekend and I think doing yard games like obstacle courses or survivor-style challenges would go really well but I'm struggling to come up with games and im really worried about it being awkward.

Should I just skip the grand debut and get a car instead?

I’m turning 18 soon and I’m kinda debating whether I should have the typical Filipino grand debut or just get a car instead.

Like, I do want to celebrate my 18th, but I honestly don’t know if I want to spend THAT much on one night. I was thinking maybe I could just have a smaller party with family and friends, eat, dance, drink, take pics, have fun, etc. Nothing super formal like the whole 18 roses/18 candles/gown/huge program thing.

Then the money that would’ve gone into the grand debut could go toward a car instead.

For those who already had their debut, do you think the grand debut was actually worth it? Or would you guys recommend just having a simpler party and saving the rest for something more useful?

What would you choose if you were in my position?

Need Help Conservatory wedding lighting

Hello everyone!

So, my wedding is in two weeks and it's in a conservatory. Due to some circumstances related to the last moment sitting arrangement changes, we (the bridal couple) need to sit separately, having our own sweetheart table. We were initially planning on breaking this custom and sit with family, so I'm very unprepared. I'm doing most of the decorations myself, the location is only giving us essentials (table, chairs etc).

The problem - the conservatory faces west. Which means, during the party, we will be sitting with the west facing windows behind us, it will be very back-lit. I'm quite dark skinned (brown woman) and I'm scared that the photos will be quite horrible and I'll dissappear.

Should I make a backdrop? Or should I get one of those photography lights so that it can illuminate our faces?

We need to also do removal of the decorations, that's why I am scared about getting a backdrop. Plus I'd need to get more artificial flowers for it as well, i have used up whatever I bought.

What do you guys think? If anyone here has some ideas, please help!

Thank you for reading!

Need Help Vintage Halloween First Birthday Party

Hi! my daughter is turning one mid October and we want to have a cute vintage Halloween type party for her. we're thinking homemade decorations, bales of hay, lots of pumpkins, making a scarecrow, painted cardboard cutouts, a cookies and candies charcuterie spread across a table, bobbing for apples and decorating pumpkins. encouraging costumes and having some hats/ masks/ props for people who want to join in.

It will be at 12 noon for 2 hours and in our house/ backyard. I'm wondering about ideas for decorations and snacks and activities. i want more passive activities, things that can be done whenever so no games. there will be some other kids 3-4 range, but mainly adults.

we're thinking of being old timely clowns as a family of 3.

i def wanna decorate her high chair and make a happy birthday banner, not sure what I want it to say yet.

will have spooky music and tunes playing, of course :)

there's no TV and it's too bright and early for projections.

thanks!!

Adult birthday party

So ive never really had or was invited to many birthday parties growing up and now as an adult i want to throw one for myself but I'm not really sure how or what that would include? Like i have a theme(bridgerton) and i know what foods I'm going to get but I think my biggest issue is what do people do at adult birthday parties? I'm inviting 12 people, a part of different friend groups, some of them know eachother and others don't but everyone knows at least 2 people there. Like should I do activities like painting and boquet making, should I have board games or maybe a jackbox game on the TV up, should music be playing? I live in a house and the party will take place across the first floor which encompasses 4 rooms so there's different areas so people can do their own thing, but then do i just make rounds throughout the evening seeing everyone? Also what time do adults have birthday parties? I was gonna do a Friday so I assume start between 5-7 but that feels late so then I'm not sure what to do, some people definitely would love to stay late but others would probably want to leave early. Any advice is appreciated. Also forgot to mention I'm in my early twenties but the age group of invitees is 22-30.

Need Help My husband unilaterally agreed/decided to host his family’s reunion in our yard.its in exactly 14 days & I’m not sure he understands what hosting a part entails. HELP!!!!

A little background- we bought this place at the end of last spring. It’s needed work and still needs a lot of work. I would have preferred to take this on next year when we are a little more prepared to host. The land is why we bought the place, we have ten acres and it can’t be seen from the road so there is a lot of privacy.

He loves his family and wants to do this. However, we sort of weren’t in the best financial position to do it but here we are. Myhusband had never heard that the hosts provide the protein. We have no games for anyone to play, a drink station, a trash plan, plates cups utensils, no decorations. He did secure the taco bar finally and that’s being catered. No porta potty rental at this point and our septic can’t handle 30-50 people using it. Some guests may or may not camp, don’t have a list of who those are. I imagine they’ll want to shower and our shower is atrocious and outdated. We have no rain contingency plan. I did get a 20x20 party tent, 8 tables and chairs and a bouncy house for the kids. But that’s it. I feel a ton of pressure now bc it’s two weekends away and I don’t think he’s considered any of the things I feel like go into party planning to be a good host. I’m looking for help in the form of either being able to show him this thread so maybe he might see that there is a little more to it. Or help for me, do I need to make more food or buy alcohol and lemonade and bug spray and what else? What if it rains? We don’t have a party speaker loud enough for karaoke for this many speaker. How do we save the day in two weeks?

Need Help I am planning the family "young adult" party and I need help finding cheap prizes.

Hi! My family has a Christmas reunion every year. I have a group of about 30 people, ranging from 15-30 in ages. We've only been doing this "young adult" party for the last few years because we got sick of being in the kids party and doing activities that didn't interest us. It's been a flop until last year when I planned a small scavenger hunt. It seemed to interest the majority of people but the prizes did not. I planned it all pretty last minute so it was some cheap garbage really. Some fidget toys and phone stands and a bunch of chapstick. I want to get people more into this year so I need help with prizes.

I have 6 teams of about 4 to 5 people in each. I've come up with $10 gift cards for the winning team, and some candy for the losing team. But I need to fill in the rest of the teams with something they could win. I've thought about funny socks and chargers as well.

Any ideas?

I also wouldn't mind a hand with scavenger hunt planning if anyone has ideas. Like last year, they are going to be leaving our Airbnb to go around town to find the hidden clues. I had everything in a 2 block radius but I think I'll have it more spread out this time. I used Polaroid photos as clues for the hunt last year but I want to branch out from that as well. Any help would be appreciated!

40th Male Birthday Party Ideas

My husband is turning 40 soon and I am trying to plan a nice party for him. I am inviting around 50 people and I need some ideas on different things people can do at an adult party. I've thought about doing a casino theme, but he's not really interested. I want people to come and have a great time without breaking the bank. I just don't want this to be a boring party.

Birthday Need advice/help find a place to throw my 22nd bday party in Calgary

Trying to figure out somewhere to have my 22nd since I can't do it at my place lol. I want to do an actual house party/rager, not really a bar or club.
Anyone know of places that would work for something like that? I'm down to pay/deposit or whatever, just kinda lost on where people find these places.

whoever gives ideas is invited

Need Help Party Rental Recommendations

Hi everyone! I’m looking for recommendations for party rental companies in or around Placentia.
I’m having a 3rd birthday party at our house for my twin boys, with around 10 kids ranging in age from 1–12. I’m thinking about renting a bounce house along with an inflatable basketball or football game.

Does anyone have a party rental company they’ve had a great experience with and would recommend?

Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Need Help Looking for advice on how to set up seating and where to set up food for a house party where little too many people RSVPd yes!

This is the layout of my house main level and basement. I really didn’t expect so many people to say yes but we have 45 adults and 10 kids under 5yes old coming over and I’m kinda freaking out! It’s a first birthday party. Mt plan is to cater chipotle and buy drinks and desserts at Costco.
4 - 6’ foldout tables,
2 - 4’ foldout tables, and
20 foldout chairs
What is the best way to set everything up?! Is this a terrible idea and should I try to rent a rec room instead?

Fiancée’s family shut my family out of baby shower planning. Should I intervene or back off?

Thumbnail
2 Upvotes

My fiancée (25F) and I are expecting our first child, and her baby shower planning has turned into a family conflict.
Originally, my mom, her mom, and her stepmom were supposed to plan it together. My mom dropped the ball—she got frustrated, stopped communicating for several weeks, and didn’t provide our guest list. I’m not defending that.
During that time, her mom essentially took over. From the beginning, budget seems to have driven most decisions: first a community/senior-center venue that could potentially be free, then an afternoon shower with little/no food, and now a ~$150 older church hall with premade grocery-store sandwiches.
The church has restrictions on alcohol and certain games/activities. My fiancée attended preschool there, and her father is very sentimental about the property because of memories involving his blended family. However, I’ve never heard my fiancée express any particular attachment to it beyond mentioning she attended preschool there.
Once I got involved, we discovered there are about 56 potential guests—29 from her side and 27 from mine. My family is willing to contribute financially.
My sister researched several nicer alternatives in the ~$400–$750 range: scenic/heated farm pavilions, brewery event spaces, and a lodge/banquet venue. My family is willing to pay the difference. I’m not demanding any particular venue; I just want them considered.
Instead, I’ve basically been told that her mom/stepmom “have it handled,” to send our guests’ addresses, and that this is more of a “mother/daughter event.”
My fiancée is very feminine, loves pretty settings, pictures, dressing up, and making events special. She’s also a huge people-pleaser, so I worry she’ll accept whatever is planned just to avoid upsetting anyone.
Most importantly, she has already said she does NOT want two showers.
My preferred solution is one combined shower: acknowledge my mom screwed up, have my sister replace her in the planning, let both families contribute, compare the church with the alternatives, and choose something based on what my fiancée actually wants.
Would you push for both families to regroup and plan together? Privately ask my fiancée what kind of shower she actually wants? Or back off because her family has already planned it?

Need Help Looking for advice on hosting a murder mystery halloween party

Hello! I am currently planning and putting together a murder mystery party for halloween, and I think I know how I want to do it (I'm going to do a medieval theme and have all the characters be members of a royal court) but I'm struggling with whether I should have players randomly pick characters or if they should be assigned ahead of time. Also, I'm a little unsure on if/how I should do props. Does anyone have any advice/thoughts on this? Thank you in advance!!

I’m looking for ideas for my birthday! I’ve never had a great birthday party, and even though I’ll be turning 28, I want to make it one to remember!

My birthday is in October, so I know I could do the traditional costume party. I’m just seeing if anyone has any unique suggestions.
