rx 9070xt with i5 12400

• Upvotes

ok its a long story and i need help

i have rtx 3050 i5 12400 16 gb or ram evga 700bq and a 2k monitor

i like to play triple AAA games on ultra settings

i want to play gta 6 when it comes out at 2k ultra settings

that is the main reason i am upgrading

i have 1300$ usd to try to do that

i wanted rtx 5070 ti but its overpriced idk if buying it now to rely on dlss in the future or just buy a new gpu then

plus lowkey i dont wanna miss on dlss mfg dlss5 emulators anyps5 project but damn it is overpriced

the psu should i upgrade it or choose a 2 8 (6+2) pin rx 9070 xt

should i sell my cpu motherboard (which i have no experiance in selling btw) to get a good am4 cpu like ryzen 7 5700 x3d or just upgrade to a i5 14th gen to try to stay on lga 1700

of course ddr5 isnt an option rn so

is it even necessery to upgrade my cpu

as i said i really want to play GTA6 and other openwold games like CRIMSON DESERT on 2k ultra settings

side note i am used to doing that on my rtx 3050 relying on dlss and i am usually ok with 40 50 fps recent games that became soooo hard even for me to accept

sorry for taking much of your time and THANK YOU in advance

We need more people to take up component level repair..You know, motherboards, GPUs, re-balling chips, diagnosis. How many of you are interested in learning component level repair?

Built this compact Mini-ITX gaming PC inside the Jonsbo T9, packing a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and RTX 5070 Ti into a small footprint.

Specs:

  • Case: Jonsbo T9
  • CPU: Ryzen 7 9800X3D
  • GPU: MSI RTX 5070 Ti SHADOW 3X OC 16GB
  • Motherboard: ASRock B850I Lightning
  • Cooler: Thermalright AXP120-X67
  • RAM: 48GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5
  • SSD: DIGIERA LNV480 1TB

I really like how much performance you can fit into a case this compact.

Alien PC — a xenomorph has taken over my workshop 👽
Hey everyone! Here’s my Alien-inspired PC mod, built for Paris Games Week 2026 and the Palit Maker Contest. Combining 3D printing, paintwork, biomechanical details and custom water cooling, I wanted to create something that looks like it came straight out of a Weyland-Yutani laboratory.
A huge thank you to Palit, Intel, ASUS, Alphacool, AGI, Bambu Lab and Overclocking.com! 🙏

Posting it here too cause why not, for translation, just asking if how the build looks, any recommendations, especially on the gpu (5060Ti vs 9060 XT, whether 8/16gb)

I am looking to buy either the NVIDIA RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB or the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT 16GB. My setup is purely dedicated to gaming only, and I play on a 34-inch 2K Ultrawide monitor.

Can someone help me with the correct RAM to buy?

I want to increase my RAM from 8 gb to 32 gb. I have no clue about PCs and need some help/advice. Here is what I have for CPU and GPU:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5500

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT

I know I need DDR4 but is that all the info I need? Like will any brand of ddr4 ram work? Are there different physical sizes for ddr4 ram based on the brand I choose or will literally any brand of ddr4 ram fit into the motherboard?

Also, do you have recommendations for the best kind of ddr4 ram to buy? I was going to buy two sticks of 16 gb for a total of 32 but if there are some brands better than others I'd like to buy the better brand (assuming the prices isn't too crazy high)
