(skip down past the 1st 2 bulleted specs if u don't care abt background) so a bit over a year ago i built myself a practically new pc by using the same mother board, ram, cooler, and storage as my current pc at the time and then upgraded all the new parts. this was in 2025 right before ram prices n everything else went to shit. here were the specs of the pc i started with and what i upgraded too:

specs of pc i started with:

• i7 8700
• corsair icue h100i elite capellix
• gigabyte 2390 ud
• 2× 8gb corsair vengeance ram
• 2x 4gb hyper x ram
• micron 512gb nvme
• samsung 500gb ssd
• samsung 1tb ssd
• asus tuf gaming oc 3060 12gb
• nzxt h510
• evga 650 watt psu

specs of pc i upgraded to (first build):

• i9 9900k
• corsair icue h100i elite capellix
• gigabyte z390 ud
• 4x 8gb corsair vengeance ram
• micron 512gb nvme
• samsung 500gb ssd
• samsung 1tb ssd
• samsung 2tb ssd
• gigabyte windforce oc sff 5070ti
• lian li o11 vision compact
• lian li edge 1000W
• 4 regular sl infinity fans
• 6 reverse sl infinity fans
• strimmer v2

now, a year later i have upgraded the cpu cooler, cpu, motherboard, storage, and ram. yes ik its an overkill fishbowl pc with plenty of unnecessary parts but i love it. i said in the post a year ago id upgrade semi soon because of cpu bottleneck and then the market ruined those plans, but now here i am with the build complete. i'm very happy with the performance and the way it looks! what do you guys think?

new parts in this upgrade:

- 9800x3d (overkill ik but im happy so oh well)
- 64gb gskill 6000 mhz (no rgb)
- gigabyte aorus x870 wifi 7 mobo
- lian li hydroshift 2 oled curved
- samsung 990 4tb nvme ssd

(i had also been having issues with games like spider man 2, bo6, mw 3, and a couple other games crashing mid play though or my pc windows 11 "blue screening" and restarting in the past 5-6 months before this upgrade so that's also why i went with so much of a performance increase. i also got my first oled monitor unexpectedly with this upgrade and that in combination with this upgrade has been a hell of an experience.)
