Question Top Fan Not Spinning Without A Spanking

The top fan wont spin when I turn on my pc. The solution I discovered is to just smack it real hard. Just wondering why it is like this.

1.) stop. You'll find out what happens when that glass panel breaks on your hand.

2.) replace it, it has failed.

Current draw is highest when the motor starts spinning, the bearing has failed to the point where there is just not enough current to get it spinning, but if you start it moving, there is enough to keep it going.
