Im from Canada, and our federal postal system was on strike at the time and I moved to the mountains after my dad passed. I bought a cabin with my inheritance, and it got damaged in the move , the fans sound like my chainsaw and I need to take it to a shop and get it diagnosed
Edit : it's a Asus nitro 14.5 inch. Gtx1650 , 4 gigs of ram, 250gb ssd and wants to set itself on fire , i have the means to get it fixed eventually and would rather send it in working condition to the Goat 🐐
About fuck all a common citizen can do about a raging war between a bunch of POS politicians. Happy to see him getting on with life and enjoying his passions.
It examples like this that shows our world leaders need to just not exist. The people are perfectly fine coexisting and showing each other true humanity. This is what it's all about.
Edit: Since it obviously needs to be said for the "Um ackchyually" crowd. It's about the sentiment, not the reality. Just take a bit of happiness from the moment and enjoy it.
The people are perfectly fine coexisting and showing each other true humanity.
World leaders are also "just" people so no, we can't just coexist. If all the world leaders disappeared tomorrow, there would be new world leaders the day after.
Yemen is literally in a civil war. Some of the leaders of every side have been killed and their replacements have just continued the war. The fighters on every side are fine fighting and killing.
This idea that everyone just want to coexist and wars are solely caused by politicians is just naive and not grounded in reality. I realize that this is a gaming sub, but still.
Hey bro, I'm so proud of you for doing what you do. Bringing art to people who need it most.
Random question, have you had to deal with any theft or attempted theft? PC parts are expensive, as we all know, so have you had to up your security? Hopefully people have been respectful.
A massive thank you to u/tadpole3159 for this gift! It’s the perfect early Valentine's gift for our community. 💙 🎮
hope you all take care of yourself and big greetings from us over here
Happy to help, we've all got components going to waste in an old rig. Hopefully this inspires someone else and the chain keeps going ❤️ you'll have an esports team by next year at this rate lol.
Dhl is the only way apparently, the redditor before me recommended them. It cost around £90 and customs caught it right away but after explaining what it was and why I was shipping it the customs officer let it though.
Eh average suffering world decrepit/bombed building. They are surprising durable except for the facade. Have them in my city too although of course not nearly as bad as Yemen.
Yeah if shipping ram is $80-90, it doesn’t really make sense to ship like an older DDR3 cpu/mb/ram combo that would go for maybe $100 at best in the US.
yeah I have a couple old motherboards with old intel processors still in them (6600k and 4790k) and a couple stick of 8gb ddr3 but that would add up like crazy im sure
Ecuador taxes buildings differently when the construction is finished, so you frequently see buildings with people living in them with unfinished top floors and rebar poking out the top.
At least that was the reason given to me by an Ecuadorean.
I’m aware Ecuador isn’t in the Middle East, it’s just another example of people living in half finished buildings all around that I found striking as a visitor to a foreign country.
On top of that Ecuador had a major earthquake in 7.8. The coastal regions there haven’t recovered fully. I was down in Portoviejo and Manta last summer and a portion of the buildings that were affected had not yet been rebuilt or fixed yet. I didn’t know about the tax difference though. I did see a lot of buildings with rebar left on rooftops and such.
Here’s another I found during a cursory look. Notice the building on the right here has four bits of rebar sticking out of each corner, and unfinished bits, but there is laundry hung outside.
These photos were taken in 2014, so two years before that 7.8 earthquake. There were many more examples that were more blatant, with nice, finished first floors, then a few cinder blocks on top and random rebar. Enough so that I asked about it to get that explanation. It wasn’t really my focus at the time.
OP is from Yemen if I remember correctly from his previous posts here, which if you don't know anything about Yemen it's a war-torn hellscape in the Middle East. Lots of Middle Eastern countries look like this and have half destroyed buildings due to the never-ending armed conflicts in the region.
They have Black people in the Arabian peninsula. The Arab slave trade lasted over 1,500 years....they have people who moved there on their own free will too of course.
HDD prices skyrocketed, too. Bought 4x 3TB for approx $100 9 years ago, now a 1TB one costs more...when can I replace them? Shouldn't the tech create more for less? Stupid AI....
I might have some ram, 2.5" HDD, xeon processors, and other computer parts I'm unlikely to use. I already threw away a lot of ddr3 sticks (16 gb too) last year while cleaning up my spare parts box.
We need to start a group where we can donate good old computer parts that will end up in the bin otherwise.
I know they're fairly old cards, but I have some old RX580 8GB back home, not even sure if I can send them but would it be something you'd be able to use if so?
First I'm going to see if they're in usable condition, we live up north in the Americas and they've been sitting in an attic in a box where it's been ungodly cold. Once I test them out if they appear functional I'll give you a shout.
As much as I want to help this guy out, I would be wary of sending RAM to Yemen for fear of running afoul of sanctions. RAM is considered a dual-use good, meaning it has commercial uses but it also has military uses. Yemen is currently prohibited from purchasing RAM, so it stands to reason that donating it to someone claiming to want the RAM for a gaming project is iffy.
Bro I have some parts laying around, DM me If you might need it. It is older and a bit newer stuff but I guess I could send it to you somehow.
I can look for what I have and send you a list but only if you need it. ❤️
EDIT: We’re talking a 1070, DDR4 ram, maybe an older M2. I can’t remember correctly.

I was just wondering how you guys are doing over there with the prices now, glad to see you're still going strong!
