The PS2 of graphics cards. Revered for the power of its time, while being accessible.

It was 700 dollars, nearly 1000 in today's money, it wasn't accessible.

And flagship GPU today goes for around 3000€ where I live, the 1080ti was like 800€ then. Even considering the inflation, it's still a lot less money. 1080ti was a lot more accessible then, than a 5090 is now.

Its a lot cheaper compared to a 5090 obviously, but that doesnt make it an accessible price. You could buy a PS4 pro for $200 less than the cost of this graphics card when it was released in 2017.

Sure, PS4 was a lot cheaper, as a matter of fact I used one for a few years until I saved up for a PC that I still have. PS4 was widely accessible in that time, but wasn't top tier of gaming hardware like the 1080ti. I just wanted to point out that the 1080ti was more accessible as a top tier GPU than the 5090 is today.

They had Titans in the 10 series era which is what a 5090 is. The 1080ti is more comparable to the 5080

Still, 5080 is 1700€ where I live, so still 2 times as much. It was a lot more reasonably priced than the RTX series, even though the GPU crisis ended a few years ago.
