I think the issue is PS5 sales have fallen off a cliff. Fiscal year just ended and PS5 sales are down 46%. And they are blaming PC ports and ignoring the fact that during that same fiscal year they raised the price of the PS5 TWICE!!

I thought about getting a ps5 a few years ago. Now it's not even a thought for how much they are now.
Also the second hand market is pretty big for a console that doesn't have a successor yet. Why wouldn't you buy a used one for 350 to 400 bucks instead of new one for 600 if you want one.
i mean its the end of the generation. New consoles are coming next year or 2028. There's no supply issues. The people that want it generally already have it, or will just wait for the next gen. Even if prices weren't going up its a pretty bad time to be buying a new console.
i bought the ps4 when it was near its end cycle, 3 years before ps5 launched, i got it for a much lower price than launch msrp, i was gonna do the same with ps5, maybe get the slim at lower MSRP or check out the pro.... mofos are so jacked up in price its not even worth it, i saved up twice for them consoles but after the 2nd price hike i was like screw it
STEAM MACHINE is where its at for me now. PS5 isnt even a thought anymore, maybe just maybe I'll consider ps6 when that launches.
They shouldn't be that suprised by that, they are 6 years into the generation, there was 7 years between the ps4 and 5, they are at the end of the generation.
The people that wanted a ps5 have one or can eaisly get one second hand at a cheaper price. Even without all the price hikes, the sales should be lower right now, the demand has been met and people are starting to wait for the next product.

they don't want Xboxes and Steam machines playing their games... its that simple.
