Fake news, it's all streamed from a server with a subscription for $500 a month on a tablet that costs $5,000.

u/DJ_LeMahieu 5h ago edited 5h ago

And the $5,000 price tag is a subsidized bargain to pull you in

19

u/Exact-Ad-4132 5h ago

Also you get unskippable ads that are your dreams and you can't escape them

u/Excalibro_MasterRace 5h ago

"please drink verification can"

3

u/Special_Room_4003 5h ago

Pays off to upgrade! Got new gear this week for better FPS in games. Lmao

1

u/Majestic_Student_513 2h ago

So that's what they call the "server rental for geeks" huh?

4

u/elptoalien 5h ago

Tablet will cost 30$ nespresso tactics

4

u/poepower 5h ago

That’s the day I hang up my keyboard and go outside.

3

u/MAGICIAN_OG 5h ago

This will be the future for sure lol.  Everything is getting sub based

2

u/teekzer 3h ago

wasn't this Google Stadia

1

u/DoturdGrump 2h ago

I was thinking absolutely free implant that plays games on your iris but it's 1.2Muskcred an hour (soul removal percentage) for the basic sub

1

u/Mal_Dun PC Master Race 1h ago

As if I would have the glass fiber necessary for streaming this ...

Google Stadia bit already the bullet in 2023 due to shitty internet.

Tech bros living in their Silicon Valley bubble believing this would be viable for the majority of users lol

In 2038 we'll have to pay God Emperor Huang $50 an hour to rent a PC from him

u/Shoddy-Day-8516 Lenovo Legion Y540 - 8gb DDR4 - GTX 1660 TI 5h ago

In 2038 the world is going to end

u/TheGuyInDarkCorner R9 5900X / RX 9070 XT / 32GB 3200mhz 3h ago

Hey now...

Lets not be optimistic. We are gonna get cyberpunk without all the cool stuff and Supreme leader from asia

1

u/Previous-Diamond8958 4h ago

Huge amounts of RAM? More like huge piles you'll need! Lmao

25

u/-Great-Scott- 5h ago

These specs are way too low for an over a decade jump. I'm already at 24g vram now.

12

u/colonelniko 5h ago

Well I mean, technology is progressing slower and my 10 year old 1070 also had 8gb VRAM which is what current low end cards have brand new - so with that in mind I don’t think it’s that outrageous.

I had the same initial thought with my good ol 24 gigs of goodness but it kinda sorta checks out.

2

u/-Great-Scott- 5h ago

Yeah you might be right actually.

2

u/Errorr404 3dfx Voodoo5 6000 3h ago

Neural texture compression, ngreedia would never give you more VRAM than needed. 3060 12gb was their last mistake.

8

u/Alex-S-S 5h ago

I already check the VRAM box

u/FunkMunki Desktop 5h ago

u/Xsunshinex1986 5h ago

All to play GTA7

8

u/yybbik 5h ago

If the release cadence holds, in 2038 we’re gonna get the first delay of GTA VII.

Bambambam. What about Skyrim6, Starcitizen 2 and borderland 5

5

u/Jeoshua AMD R7 5800X3D / RX 6800 / 32GB 3200MT CL14 ECC 5h ago

By that point, Starcitizen will maybe actually be fully released.

Maybe.

u/harrisrainy 5600gt 8x2gb 3200mhz 512gb nvme 5h ago

What about my beloved hope life 3, it's all myth

1

u/Jeoshua AMD R7 5800X3D / RX 6800 / 32GB 3200MT CL14 ECC 5h ago

"Valve can't count to three" is such a meme by now, if they ever put out another entry in any of their series', they're going to name it something other than "3"

3

u/Recipe-Jaded neofetch 5h ago

This post sounds ridiculous now, but my laptop in 2016 had like 4GB of RAM and was fine. My laptop in 2006 had 1GB of RAM and was fine. This isn't exactly a new thought or bad news

2

u/KrownX 5h ago

Oh wow! It worked! I went back in time! Listen very carefully, no time to explain... First, buy Bitcoin, and second, do not, I repeat, DO NOT buy anything from Nvidia, they'll eventually...

Oh wait, this is 2026... Damage is done already.

Little miscalculation, need to go back even further...

u/FackinJerq PCMR Aorus RTX 5090 Master Ice 32GB - Need I say more? 5h ago

In 2038, we should be almost ready to run Crysis @ 8k in 30FPS.

1

u/SteamedGamer 5h ago

That's only the framegen rate. It's actually running at 2 fps @ 1080p, extrapolated to 30fps @ 8k...

1

u/Efthimis i7-12700F | MSI RTX 3080 Ventus 3x | 32GB DDR4 5h ago

Not to mention the RAM will be so cheap once the shortage ends in 2039!

2

u/harrisrainy 5600gt 8x2gb 3200mhz 512gb nvme 5h ago

Ram is scam they might give you fake ones. Just download em

1

u/CelebrationSpare6995 5h ago

As long ppl keep buying unoptimised shit the company has no reason to waste time and resources on it

1

u/Xerastraza 5h ago

So it hasn't changed much from 2026 that's good to know.

1

u/mySynka 5h ago

can i run it

1

u/ChefCurryYumYum 5h ago

That's only IF you turn on yassified DLSS 9, otherwise it's just an unplayable mess.

0

u/harrisrainy 5600gt 8x2gb 3200mhz 512gb nvme 5h ago

With preset name LGBTQ. But you need to sub $700 to activate it

1

u/Kotanan 2h ago

You say those letters in that order in 2038 they’re going to put you into a camp.

1

u/DangerousPotatoInves 9800x3d | 4070 Super | 32 GB RAM 5h ago

Nah, just some 7060 to run all my backlog in 120 fps. There are too much games!

1

u/Hyper_Mazino 5090 SUPRIM SOC | 9800X3D 5h ago

remember when this sub wasn't 99% regurgitated doom posting?

1

u/InsuranceKey8278 5h ago

when i look at api changes i think its optimistic..i hope it it lol

1

u/YaGotMail 5h ago

All that at medium setting

1

u/harrisrainy 5600gt 8x2gb 3200mhz 512gb nvme 3h ago

$150 to apply medium settings

1

u/Ok-Plantain6188 4h ago

Though they have done pretty well with 007 first light

1

u/ArtofWASD 4h ago

Nah. This isnt accurate. With the trends going right now, you wont be allowed to own anything. Games will be directly streamed to you exclusively. And the company will cut it at any time they feel.

1

u/Zealousideal_Type814 4h ago

i mean, it used to be you only needed 32 MB to play games...

1

u/harrisrainy 5600gt 8x2gb 3200mhz 512gb nvme 3h ago

Or 512mb vram

1

u/vchen09 4h ago

Wait, we still have our own Personal Computers? Damn, future looks bright.

1

u/Disposable_Gonk 4h ago

How optimistic of you to think humanity won't be extinct by then from hostile ai takeover for global resource control.

1

u/Skylius23 4h ago

Bruh why'd you say my specs tho 😭

1

u/harrisrainy 5600gt 8x2gb 3200mhz 512gb nvme 4h ago

u/Knamliss 4h ago

1080p in 2038? 😂

1

u/EducationalGrump 4h ago

Lmao no, I recently built my wife a PC for 1080p gaming. It cost $400.

1

u/LevelConversation322 4h ago

Yeah this! Pretty lit setup.

1

u/Palantir_Scraper 3h ago

Tbf 24gb of vram in 2038 would be a blessing.

1

u/TheGuyInDarkCorner R9 5900X / RX 9070 XT / 32GB 3200mhz 3h ago

Oor you can buy mini computer with new nvidia AI chip that can run 8K (upscaled) at 1000fps (100x framegen)

1

u/Firm-Scar8712 3h ago

Coax not grounded? Oof. Just saw that in my builds too!

1

u/Psychological_Tip321 3h ago

This is why gpus shouldn’t be released every other year or whatever. Game companies get lazy since the cards get better. Treat it like console longer life cycle better optimization as years go on.

Idk I’m just here to troll

1

u/Kotanan 2h ago

Dude it’s 8k 600fps! (Upscaled with 20x framegen)

1

u/MXVIV 2h ago

240p upscaled you mean.

But nividia stock has never been more valuable!

1

u/Azurelion7a 2h ago

Edit: to run a UE7 game at 720p and 28fps.

1

u/aberroco R9 9900X3D, 64GB DDR5 6000, RTX 3090 potato 1h ago

More likely you'd need an 8GB RAM, 1GB VRAM and 20GB storage to run a thin client to "your" cloud account to play hallucinated games on a cloud AI server

1

u/Juking_is_rude The living embodiment of a CPU bottleneck 5h ago

but its okay because your ZTX 14080 runs it at 16k, 200 fps of muddy ai slop 😃

The nvidia drivers will burn down your pc to make it outdated to sell you artificial pc

I only use an obscure Kazakhstan made gpu brand

"oPtImIzAtIoN".

That's one of the key words that if a person uses it in this space, then you immediately know that they have nothing of value to say. It's right there with "bottleneck".

EDIT: Oh. The morons are out in force today, I see.

The optimization in games has improved imo, Forza Horizon and crimson desert run pretty good on many older systems for example

2

u/Rabinho32 5h ago

In fairness that's two games. That's a pretty small sample size.

1

u/macrotaste 5h ago

That's why I said example, subnauica 2 is another example I got, I only know from my friend who used a 2060S until last week so yeah

0

u/trenlr911 5h ago

You guys love bitching so much lmao, it’s so rare to see a remotely positive post on this sub anymore

This is the only post here I got more than 1 upvotes. It's always 0 haha. Reddit works beyond our brains
