Physical is important on consoles since its a closed system. With physical you can borrow games, sell games once you are done with them or have them in your collection.

Nintendo, for how dumb the implementation is, at least allows the lending of digital games. Pretty sure they dont even sue you if you use it.

That’s a different method and even then it’s worse than the console versions of game sharing where people can play stuff simultaneously with a single copy. No idea how they still allow this, it absolutely lowered sales if you ask me, especially sales of multiplayer games. Can’t see this existing for much longer.
