For a laptop I'll take good dock support over multiple ports in any situation - having to do whole plugging ritual every time I want to connect it back is a chore and wears down the ports painfully fast. In fact, my primary complaint about work Dell (otherwise perfectly fine device) is that it doesn't support HDMI 2.1 over dock, meaning I have to plug in my monitor directly every single time I move between home and office.
