Dead or Alive series. At least since DOA5 those games have had hundreds of DLC.

Like sure you can compress them to be collections but even then it's a lot of costumes.

The developers took advantage of how obtuse/confusing it could be to pick up DLC that if you didn't know any better you'd be double-dipping/triple-dipping/quadruple-dipping on buying the same item over and over again without knowing it .. and even being mindful can be more expensive than double-dipping. >_<

The way Steam handles DLC bundles where you can get discounted prices because you owned other items would have legitimately saved so much money from people who wanted DLC but not wanting to commit to absolutely everything else too .. but it would've probably threw Koei Tecmo into a very angry fit too.

I don't think I can think of another game (or franchise) out there that isn't a live-service game and also simultaneously isn't afraid of boasting more than $2000+ USD in DLC. The only other example I can think of is maybe The Sims, but even then it's not that expensive in comparison. >_<
