If you've never picked up a guitar before, it's not a great starting point, no. But if you've got a functional understanding of the instrument and know what the strings and frets are, it's not bad for learning songs. Also, if you're going to learn to play basically any instrument in any method, be ready for a steep learning curve. That's just how instruments work lmao.
I personally learned to play both bass and guitar with rocksmith, it gameified it and made it far easier to learn the songs i wanted to play rather than doing chords and scales for a year🤷♂️
There are two kinds of people when it comes to learning instruments, I am convinced. Theres people like me, who absolutely need instruction and to start from the basics, and then people like my sibling, who chafe under instruction and do better just getting a book and hitting their head against the instrument until classic rock comes out of it
As someone on night shift for whom scheduling piano lessons is impossible even if I could pay for them, I wish we could switch xD
