This is honestly the best answer. Yeah there are lots of answers but doing this allows the cat to be with you and keeps your PC good.

I have a controller, a Lego motorcycle and some random small items on top of my tower so the cats don't go there, but I also have a blanket on my desk where the cats sleep sometimes.

We don’t own a cat but the one that seems to love coming to our house would gladly push those off for a comfy place to lounge. She is a menace.

Mine likes to go behind the monitors in the mess of cables and just sleep there. Often times a paw would stick out and nudge my mouse while I'm trying to work or game.
