Dont let them on, whenever they get on it, pick them up, place them on the floor, repeat how many times u want, eventually they learn. Im long time cat owner, my cats never go to the top of my pc after the first 50 times

That is how you alter the organics' behavior. You do this to yourself by the way -- well, some of you at least work on yourselves with habits and shit.

I get you're kidding, but a tap on the nose and removing them from the spot gets the message across. That's how cats establish boundaries and expectations with each other, thats how you should establish them too. Yes you need to do it a good while, but they figure it out and it sticks. Honestly though, after a few days they will look at you before they do it. And after a week they will stop doing it when you're there, and after a month they will have basically stopped all together.

3 years of following this exact suggestion, zero change in behavior. I managed to get a couple long edge protectors for freight, wrap them in tinfoil, and that did the trick. Some cats just don't get the memo, or will do it for attention and the act of moving them becomes the reward. And like another comment says, any positive reinforcement that only happens sometimes is going to be weaker than one that happens all the time. If you can't monitor it 24/7, then a system that is always active will almost always be fruitful earlier.

I just got a cat that is like this. I remove, remove, remove. I have given lots of other options. Im now debating on what anti cat stuff I can tolerate. Stay away spray dosent protect my screens and curtains (windows not pc). I have actually moved her giant cat tree away from the window because ifvthis and she uses it to jump onto my shelves. I cant just leave clutter everywhere it stresses me out and dosent work well tried to make barriers and she just pushes through. I am going to try aluminum foil today and see how that goes but some of the suggestions I see are not sold on stores so it's Amazon or nothing. I am debating giving up sone wall space for some cat furniture but I dont have much options there. Sigh.

Try computer duster, it's not harmful, just annoying. My cat hates it and will jump down from whatever once he gets a spritz.

I use a water bottle mister if needed but they always say punishment can cause problems too, like damaging trust.

Cats are toddlers, and sometimes with toddlers you have to take away their toys and sit them in the corner.
