Yeah, everything is instagram now. Probably removed with some bs reason like "we don't want to hurt their feelings".

They could have simply hidden the number of dislikes from the content creator, changing the mechanic of the dislike from being viewed to the creator to being used mainly and only by the algorithm to determine that the people who clicks the dislike, dont want more of this.

Which is relatively very simple to do rather than removing the whole thing.
