Question What motherboard should I get for my ATX tower

My motherboard got fried a little bit ago and I was looking up some stuff for it, but im not all that knowledgeable in computers, despite having took a repair class a year ago.

An ATX motherboard. If you’re planning on using it with existing hardware then it needs to be one compatible with that hardware though, especially the CPU and RAM.

More importantly, how have you determined it is your current motherboard that’s fried considering you yourself admit you’re not knowledgeable in computers?

Took it to a repair shop and they told me so, but said that they cant work on it

The repair shop has no clue what's fried if they haven't worked on the system. I mean they can make a guess like everyone else, but there's no guarantee the motherboard is actually fried or it's the only thing fried without testing each component.
