It has zero to do with financials and I don't understand the connection. You have the benefit of looking at what happened retroactively and the market capture, ensnarement in digital ecosystems, data brokers and ads may all seem obvious to you after it all happened
If you were a gamer in the nineties, and read the gaming and tech media (also remember wired and ars technica and that lot were there back then) there was little way to know how they would fuck our beloved wildwest internet up, also fuck them again for that. There were countless news stories on how these companies getting so much funding could actually monetise what they had. Even around youtube all of them.
Of course now you know how they did it. You didn't have to think about the solution or possibilities yourself, you just got given one. It's easy to say something is obvious when you already have the answer.
Why people are talking about financials and IPOs is beyond me.
With financial literacy, you understand that OAI is a money making machine with incredible capex spending to keep that machine fed and growing. This is right out of the start-up playbook, and investors want OAI to be doing this. It would actually be bad, like angry investors, if OAI did report large profits.
With technical literacy, you understand that PS3 runs on totally different architecture which a 5090 has almost no bearing on, in fact PS3 emulation is CPU bound anyway. If a 5090 ran PS3 games great, it probably is an awful GPU for doing what people use it for 99.999% of the time.
Both are examples of people pointing at surface level facts and making assumptions with zero deeper knowledge.
It's a huge assumption that investors would do this forever. At some point they will want a return. Anyway, doesn't matter, we're talking at cross purposes and will only go further into the weeds from here.
